...because I'm a fucking loser, and I came across this page with medical technology headlines. The page is called, "A Toast to the Bionic Man", and features a large picture of a man with two prosthetics hooked up to some wires, holding a wine glass in his left artifical hand. I read the artical and I must say it was really fascinating, so I looked up his name and came across http://www.ric.org/bionic/this page</a>. I usually don't get too interested in medical technology stuff, but this was too cool to pass up. Extremely cool. It's particularly neat how they avoided using implanted electrodes to detect the nerve impulses, by instead connecting the nerves to muscles to use them as signal amplifiers so that surface electrodes can detect the messages.
