Shut up, Sony

There may or may not be TVs out now that can handle a 120fps display (honestly I have no clue if there is or not - nor do I really care at this point), but what if it allows connection to a PC monitor that would support it?

In either case, like Moogle stated, it's their right to make the decision to include it. Although I, personally, don't see it ending up as a noteworthy selling point for the vast majority of gamers.

I may be wrong, but I though NTSC TVs are 60 hertz, while PAL TVs are 50 hertz, meaning the screen refreshes itself 50 times a second, meaning 50 FPS, no more.

Right. PAL TVs run on a 50Hz standard, although I've read elsewhere that many these days can support a 60Hz display as well. Whether or not there's truth to it, I don't know for certain.

Given that at least a few titles of the most recent console gaming generation have required 60Hz capable/compatible tvs, I'd suggest so.

It's true. The one that I use for all my consoles does and it's not even near new anymore. I only wish more developers knew about this...

Most average people who play a few games cannot, and parents buying one for their kids really cannot. For them, whichever they plunk down money on will be what they play the next 3 - 4 years.

Also, consider that people outside the USA make far less money—not that anyone can save money nowdays with how expensive basic utilities have become—even though these systems are sold at the same price as the USA. The Australian dollar is nearly 2-to-1 in exchange with the US dollar, and here in China, we only make $300 - $500 US per month, even with a good job in a major city. No one here is buying every video game system—except maybe the kids of corrupt government officials who ass-rape peasants out of cash.

While the information being tossed around is currently all shit, and means nothing in deciding which to buy, most people will still eventually end up buying one: not all three.

Deciding based on hardware specifications alone is insane, unless your reason for buying a game system it so crack it open and install Linux on it like college kids with far too much time. Most people decide based on which has the most first-gen games they like.

Truer words were never spoken. While I own an NES, PS1 and a Genesis, the only one I followed all the way down the line has been Nintendo. I own a Dreamcast (which I thought died a horrible death) that there are still homebrews and progs being written for. But it was the first gen NES that hooked me.

> Thoughts?

Besides what everyone else has said, I'm just glad Microsoft finally moved away from an x86 processor for the Xbox 360. The only quarrel I have with that is this:

How the hell are we supposed to write games using C/C++ for Xbox 360 if it isn't even x86 architecture?

I don't know much about C, so I'm just running my mouth here. Maybe there is a way, who knows...All I know is that the Developers Kit is supposed to be used with Visual Studio.

C/C++ is not processor exclusive. It's all about compilers. Heck I bet many games post-smnes era were written on C/etc. And take a guess: Mac apps are written on C/etc too

I think I should have known that, the compiler thing, but oh well...Blanked out...

Anyway, kinda Ironic that people are coding Apps for one competitor with the software of another competitor

I was never interested in the original Xbox, and the 360 isn't any different to me, I'm just not interested.

Same with the PS3, I bought a PS2 because my PS1 died and there were a few games I wanted for it. Given the fact that at least half of my games were disappointing I'm beginning to wonder if I wasted my money.

The Revolution sounded really good, like Nintendo finally got their act together and made a good console... then they showed that damn remote. I don't care if it's innovative, it's fucking stupid. Make a wireless controller if you want wireless, you know, with a place for my hands to go. Do they actually expect us to grip onto this thing with both hands?

Yeah, all the "next gen" consoles can go to hell, they all suck at the time being. Maybe when some games actually come out and are worth playing my opinion will change.

I wouldn't give my xbox up for anything. But I like the Revolution controller. With the right mods, it could make boxing games awesome.

I agree, the revolution controller looks stupid, but so does the one for the PS3.
After using my N64 controller for years, I thought the GameCube one was an abortion...but it's not.
I'll give the controller a chance.

Yeah, in the recent EGM they had the idea of how much a new Punch-Out!! game would rule with two of those controllers.

I share the same consciousness as the masterminds behind EGM. We are a hive mind.

You will bow or suffer horrible DDR experiences. There will be no mercy.

Like that arcade boxing game by Konami! That I totally can't remember the name of!

I forgot to mention the PS3 controller. I thought the N64 controller was going to be terrible but it worked well for the games (GoldenEye with any other controller just wouldn't work), and I don't mind the GameCube one (I really dislike the button layout, I'd rather have the standard SNES controller's button layout). The perfect controller is the PS2 controller, it's the right size, the right weight, and has a great button layout.

They did make SNES style GameCube controles for play with the GameBoy player and, the revolution is compatable with all GC execeries. Plus talk of a GC controler attachment to slips on to the Revolution controler, that and I bet they make one for SNES games if you don't use the GC SNES style controler. Personal complaining about the Revolution controler seems to be like complaining about the NES Zapper as if that were the only means of playing NES games.

> execeries

Now that's an interesting misspelling of that word. Took me a second to get what you meant. "Accessories" is what you mean, I think.

I've heard mention of this controller but do you know where I can buy one? I've never seen it, in stores or online. I'd really like to get one (I'm tired of using my GBA SP as a controller when I'm using the Game Boy Player)
