RIP Steve Irwin, aka the Crocodile Hunter

Story. I never watched the Crocodile Hunter, but saw his skits on Leno and Conan all the time.

Rest in peace, man.

Whoa. Yeah, RIP. I wonder if he was filming anything when it happened. He's come within inches of death numerous times, and I guess the inevitable finally caught up with him.

I'm glad his life was taken honorably by working with nature, and not by something lame like an illness. He died doing what he loved.

It's a tragedy that he's gone... maybe more so for us than for him. He died happy, doing what he loved most. We're left behind with probably no one to fill his shoes. It almost seems selfish of him to die in such a way.

I don't usually get sad when celebrities die, but I'm truly saddened by his death. People like him shouldn't die so young.

I 100% concur. He was a geniunly good person who loved nature and teaching kids about it. I am saddened by his death as well.

Well when you make a living flirting with death, sometimes death takes its toll. I think he was a good TV personality and clearly cared about nature and education.

Well, it had to happen someday. He was taking some serious risks with some animals. At least he died doing something he loved.

indeed. That guy was so manly, that he pulled the fucking barb out of his chest right before going unconscious... now THAT is a man.

I totally agree... I thought he'd always be around with his famous "Crikey!" while wrestling a crocodile, snake, or some other kind of dangerous creature. I can't imagine Animal Planet without him. I didn't watch every episode of the show, but I did truly enjoy the episodes I watched. He's the most energetic wildlife conservationist that we'll probably ever see... my condolences go out to his family and friends.

I didn't hear about that part. It would be awesome if he would have then stabbed the sting ray back with it.

Should've used SPF30 sunblock...

It says right on the label, "stops deadly rays".

While not funny because of the situation, you do get clever points
