Already did. Three times. In fact, I gave the current staff the okay to go ahead and do whatever they want. Someone decided to finally fix some of the scripts...so good for them.

MY POST WAS NOT MEANT TO CRITICIZE THE STATUS OF ZD, I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF SWAMPGAS COULD MAKE EDITING TOPICS FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME POSSIBLE.

That's how it is right now. Anyone on staff is free to make and deploy any improvements they wish.

I can do volunteer work too, but I don't.
 
I've asked to be on staff. I've emailed. I've PMed. I've gone to channel. I got a couple of replies, once. One from Swamp, in fact. Problem is, his reply pointed me to a mambo install (which I fucked around with), but did not include any directions of how to, say, log in to SFTP to do any real site updates. I couldn't even edit the damn default theme at all, because those didn't have the right file permissions.

I've asked if I was on staff again or not, and got ignored. I went to channel to ask Swamp directly if I was going to be ALLOWED to help or not, and got ignored. I've PMed and asked, and got ignored. I've posted rants on the fucking forums, and they get a little snip comment - but still, nothing is done.

Last I checked, it's September 10th. The last update on the front page is August 25th, and fuckall if I know if that was hand-coded or anything. You have a broken ass forum, broken ass news page, half of your damn utility pages are missing, the ones that are there are out of date... NOTHING IS BEING DONE.

You want some shit done? Step off your fucking "I need to get laid" box, give a couple of people FTP access and back the fuck off. Every damn comment I've heard about TRYING to bring forward a new look to the site was that Swamp shot them all down because he didn't LIKE HOW THEY LOOKED. Well fuck all! That's a great reason to let things languish and DIE, isn't it?
 
And did I fail to mention that I still can't get to the internal staff forum that Swamp TOLD me I SHOULD have access to? And when I told him it didn't work, his reaction was "damn, I don't know why that is. I guess I have to fix that. Oh, but I'm busy dancing with fucking old grandmas and trying to fuck 19 year olds lathered in chicken alfredo."

...I mean, seriously. Fuck. I have the capability of doing SOMETHING with the site, and it would be started THIS WEEKEND, if I just had access. Prototypes, something. Just to show the 'community' that SOMEONE GIVES A FUCK AROUND HERE.

You think I'm going go grant someone unstable like you access to the site? I've been there, I've done that. You honestly think cursing at me and (attempting) to belittle me is going to win me over? People like you should not be touching my box. If you want limited access, talk to someone on staff doing the coding.

I've waited several years and I'm at my breaking point as far as that goes. I've been ignored, but never turned away outright. Promised 'access', never to get it. Whether you hand the site over to me or whoever, get it in the hands of someone who gives a shit and will actually work on it.

What I am saying is I think most people work harder when they get a bit of encouragement when they do well. Yes, it's volunteer...you want to do it, or you don't. I tried it, I lost my motivation for it because, I think, I never got any sign that I was doing anything well with it.

Honestly though, I'm done debating it. Let's just please drop it. All of the rest of you as well.

I mean, the argument is pretty much over but I'm afraid someone else will try to start up the argument again. And I definitely did NOT want a simple inquiry / request to SwampGas to turn into this.
