police academy movies

I was watching a couple of these movies earlier (3 and 4), and is it just me, or are these movies damn good?

Seriously, these movies are great (I'd almost say they're classic), and some of the parts are just hilarious.

Now I gotta see if I can find em on region 4 dvd, cause they provided me a damn good amount of laughter <img src=smilies/laff.gif>

The other 6 are pretty good though. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif> Good laughs, although, I haven't actually seen the first one yet! <img src=smilies/banghead.gif>

I must disagree. Slapstick is better done in Airplane, The Naked Gun movies, and Hot Shots: Part Deux IMO.

Has there really BEEN a movie franchise that's hung on as long as Police Academy?

I'd like to see that Japanese Series starring Sonny Chiba that QT was talking about on that Kill Bill documentary on the DVD.
