Okay. First off, this ain't a thread for ROM requests, damn it! Second, estimate all of the stuff total. I just wanna get a general idea of what the trend is for media piracy amongst ZD users. When I say piracy, I mean:
  • Music (Any songs. It doesn't have to be an entire album.)
  • Movies (Self-explanatory)
  • Games (ROMs, ISOs, or PC games.)
  • Programs (Photoshop, MS Office, etc.)
Dunno why I thought of this, but...oh well. Oh, and one more thing...

Don't list your collections in a post. In fact, don't post. Just do the poll, and be on your way.

Assuming people vote in it, I think this poll is going to be a bit unbalanced unless you multiply those choices by about fifty.

Out of curiosity, do you want the #s to reflect items that were pirated but later obtained legally? I have a stack of at least a dozen CDs that are still in the original shrink wrap because I pirated them but enjoyed them enough to go ahead and purchase them.

I'm pretty sure I've downloaded more than 200 things in my life. It started off on Napster and now it's between BearShare, uTorrent, and bulk storage sites. I downloaded so much where it does get hard to keep track of what I want to have and what I want to try out.

Hm, I wonder if fansubs of shows that aren't even close to commercially available in your country should count? I guess it is piracy still, but it would be pretty hard for me to get some of that stuff.

201+ seems awfully conservative for this board. I'd be able to pass 1000 on music tracks alone. Then you have to add in the fansubs, MAME set (full 0.127), GoodSNES set, and various other games. I'm not even close to done yet either, there's still plenty more out there and plenty more room in here.

Still, I must say I'm impressed that there is anybody here on an emulator-themed message board with less than 201 roms. I was of the assumption that if you had fifty you probably had five hundred, but so far three people claim otherwise.

I forgot about ROM files somehow.

How do you find the restraint to not download every single rom you find, even just out of simple curiosity when they have names like "Laser Birdie - Get in the Hole" or "Apple Town Story - Little Computer People?"

"Apple Town Story - Little Computer People?"

I swear that one day I will translate this game. It's been sitting in my "Shit I need to get around to after I get around to the shit I'm already not getting around to" folder for over five years now. I also have the animation of the girl from the game playing Famicom as my AIM buddy icon.

I broke the 200+ file mark back in 1997 using 56K dialup. (I still have fond memories of downloading Visual Basic 3.0 via email on 14.4K dialup years before that.)

Anyone claiming less than 200 files is either forgetting something (most of that porn from LimeWire is probably pirated!), can't count or live in that county in Germany that set a minimum # of files required for them to bother prosecuting. Hell my Atari 2600 ROM directory is (oddly enough) 512 files. My Atari 5200 directory is over 200 files and I've never even seen a 5200. (I apparently haven't even emulated it because the emulator directory is empty.)

I miss the times when I used to do that. Fact of that matter is that I just don't seem to see as many old fashioned ROM sites as I used to. This would seem like a victory for the ESA, except for that fact that what I do now is go to torrent sites and download hundreds or even thousands of games at once. Some torrents go past the 100GB mark...

I downloaded a lot of ROM files that way, but it was just because I could then slap them onto a DVD and if I'm looking for something specific, I can just search the DVD and find them without having to really search for it. Just more convenient that way.

I have about 50 roms in total, for the NES, SNES and the GBA. Oh, and 2 more for the MSX Metal Gears. Some RPGs, Metroids, and Final Fantasies too.

I have around 300 N64 ROM image files individually transferred all for testing or header research purposes. I got a support project rolling and little interest for any of these games (or public domain or unlicensed images).

On the side I've got around 60 plugin files in my Plugin folder. Total file size for folder N64 is ~6.52 GB.

If you don't want people to discuss your poll, you should probably avoid posting your poll on a discussion forum.

Now that I think about it, I probably have about that many rommed games which I actually like.

My ROM archive alone exceeds 43,000.

(And no, I don't keep shit like bad dumps and overdumps: I prune any sets I find)
