tell me about it

im trying to hack these (perl) plugins for blosxom (www.blosxom.com). Blosxom itself it is very nice, and its plugin and flavor (fancy word for theme) work very well, but i just dont like coding perl and its pissing me off.

i normally do stuff in Tcl, in fact i decided to do some of the stuff i was orginally planning to hack into blosxom in a Tcl script (interfacing with an access database).

just noticed the way i put my comment about perl under the first sentence there makes it seem like perl is my only problem, but ive also just been feeling depressed since before i went to sleep last night, dont know why it hit me at that moment.

EDIT: removed entry edit page, still screwing up i dont want anyone playing with it

the submit and editing plugins seem to interfer with each other a bit but can work together if you get it right. it could be dodgey, but then again it could work (hopfully)

Oh man, I love Perl. It's so efficient. Unless I need speed or web-authoring functions, I use Perl for everything.

What is it that you find so confusing about Perl? I just recently learned PHP and, for non-web stuff, it seems fairly similar in functionality.
