No wonder Western Europe has a higher rate of piracy than North America...

Between being overcharged, having to wait forever for shoddy PAL conversions (wish should take a matter of hours to do and do well), and getting fewer games than we do, the crazy Europeans are the ones who pay for their software.

US$ Price for Sonic Mega Collection Plus in each jurisdiction?

UK: $46.67
U.S.: $19.98
Canada: $18.59 (Surprising. Usually we get screwed by about $3 - $5 before taxes. And it's much more expensive than that at Futureshop.)
France: $32 US (Can't be bothered to look.)

Don't forget Latin America. We're so screwed with dollars, we end up paying for pirated games at much lesser price (1 single dollar for a playstation game!!!)..

Good! You're poor and screwed by the exchange rate. You have to be a lunatic to pay for a game in Latin America.

Not if you want the game bad enough and you live there. Are you just plain nuts or what??

It seems logic fails for some people. I guess we Latin Americans will surely have to go to the US for the mere reason of getting our games, even if the US trip is more expensive than buying an original game around here (which is already high priced).

My problem with his response was that he seemed a little too happy games were overpriced there - it was not meant as an insult to any of the Latin-American posters here. I apologize if I offended anyone.

Pirate it.

(P.S. I'm Canadian and I paid $30 Canadian for the game. We actually pay fair prices...If I were charged that, I'd have modded my PS2 and being buying everything pirated.)

First, I own a gamecube. gamecubes rock.

Second, I only paid $63AUD for it because i bought it on special.

Thirdl, almost all new games have a RRP of $99.95AUD.

Fourth, I own 40+ GC games (all new, i can't stand second hand cd based games, they're usually in terrible condition).

Lastly, I have a job to support this habit, which is more than likely more expensive than smoking <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

Did I mention gamecubes rock?

Yeah, he does seem to be getting his rocks off on piracy. It is rather silly though. If games are so expensive there, so will the system be. People will just do without. Piracy will still only be for the rich there.

Then again, I dont know much about Latin America. I am just using logic
