i just watched a live stream of it.

OMFG is all i have to say, it was creamingly beautiful.

those who saw it, what did you think? i'm so totally jealous of the people who get the DS video of twilight princess. only thing they didn't show was the revolutions control, which sucked a little, but otherwise.. DUDE.

yeah man...i nearly died when i read this on IGN:

<blockquote>Iwata then talks about backward compatibility. "Redefining term of backward compatability. It's a virtual console, able to download 20 years of Nintendo content. You will be able to Download NES, Super NES and N64 games. You can get every Nintendo game ever made."</blockquote>

i can't fucking wait to have one of these

You gotta wonder the reasoning behind this. Nintendo is most likely the most "pirated" series of consoles as far as ROM's are concerned. Would this be an attempt to normalize the emulation scene into a controllable, and albeit profitable form?

At any rate...HELL of an idea...gets the kids and the classic gamers all in one. This seemingly has a bright future....I hope Nintendo doesn't fuck it up.

That is pretty cool, but what I'm wondering is if they are going to charge $20 for the Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt ROM, or if you will get packs of, say 100 for $10 or something.

I think that would be cool.

"Revolution will offer broadband access to a free Internet-based player matching service, similar to Xbox Live, that also will have downloadable versions of nearly every Nintendo game from arcade classic Donkey Kong through current titles such as Mario Sunshine. (Nintendo hasn't decided whether downloading will be free.)"

I'm stoked that they'll do the service for free...it looks to be a sweet system...can't wait to play smb melee/mario kart/and hell even metroid online...

Pretty sweet, but it only drills home the fact that I'd rather play my NES games than any game E3 is unveiling.
