Need help for translation please

Hi,
first of all i'm kind of new to this emulation world so please excuse the noobiness.

Then here's my "problem"
I found a french language version of a final fantasy 6, but it's filled with grammar mistakes and other awful unreadable stuff and i would like to correct all of that. Could anyone tell me where to start?

I watched stuff about "hex editing" but i don't understand much about it.

P.S. : I know i could find another better version, or even an english one but i would really like to do that myself, as a way to understand video games a little better, and i'm on a Mac btw.

Have you look online? There are translation services available that are free. You may ask help. It delivers fast and the words are easy to understand.
