No, my post is not something against Moogle. He did bring up an interesting point, though. I've seen other boards that have "Ignore PMs from" settings... could it be possible to add that feature to the forum? I mean, unless the people sending messages were mods and such.

I'm not demanding such a feature, I'm pretty much asking if it is possible, feasible, doable, and / or easy to add.

Discuss. Or not? Dunno.

I think it is a great idea and it certainly sounds doable. Course, I could be wrong and I probably am.

That's the sort of thing I would love. I wouldn't have even complained about this guy publicly had I some way of just blocking all PMs from him.

There's no functionality in WWWThreads for that, and considering the collective reluctance to moving to a different board system, I don't think you'll be seeing this any time soon.

No, only the 'old staffers'.
Besides, Peep and Audigy look good in blue. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

Whoops, my bad. Audigy is in red and teh Peepster is in purple.
Oh, and point to Kitsune: Moogle can refuse to accept pm's. All of us can. Check "Edit Profile".

True, but what if you want to ignore PMs from one or two particular people?

Hey, I didn't say it was perfect. :) You can still pm other peeps and let 'em know that you can get pm's for a while. Then recheck it.
Sorry, but that's better than nothing.<img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

I'm not. I'm somewhere between Administrator and Moderator. I should have my own color, but I don't.

It's because you are black.

Fixed it for ya. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif> And Swamp is right, there was a poll, and this board was what pretty much everybody (including myself) agreed to using. But I added that stuff must be done to tweak it. I'm sure this board is more insecure than Acmlm's board, which at this point is plain rediculous. Oh well, wait til something happens here, then do something to fix it. Just like 9/11 all over again... <img src=smilies/cry.gif>

Yellow?

I'm not the one having problems with people here. If someone bugs me I just try to ignore him or her.

If I am successful... that's another story altogether.

shroomy taught me how to be successful at ignoring what i don't like here very, very well, a LONG time ago. speaking of, i miss that old brat.

It wouldn't be hard to implement. Create another value on the user table for each user. Inside this table would be a CSV of the user ID of the user to ignore and a notion of how to have them ignored (pretend to send message, warn saying they're ignored, etc). Then when a user tries to send a PM to another user, before the PM is stored, the script looks at the table, and if the user is on the ignored list, the script will follow through with the instructions.

This isn't something that can't be done. :)
