Is there any way to...

Is there any way to convert an spc file to a music module file directly without having to fiddle around with Spc to midi and then using protracker to make module and recording all the samples from the songs, because that is EXtremely time consuming. I need this because I have a project where I'm going to make soundtracks with Spc's and have them in module format... but I'll replace any instruments that sound to "synthy" with a better sample... so it's sort of like the original music mixed with a remix. Any help will be appreciated!http://www.zophar.net/wwwthreads/smilies/laff.gif

I've got around 3000 samples with more coming. I'm ripping samples from PSX and SFC/SNES games along with some soundfonts. As an example here's a few sample sets I've released to the public. I'm working on Tales of Phantasia [sfc] and Star Ocean [sfc] right now. I've actually got a full set of Chrono Cross and Beyond the Beyond done...they aren't ready for a public release yet until I get the looping set.

Hehe.
I made something kinda like that a while back at work. E-MU makes this software synthesizer called Emulator X, and... well, just think soundfonts on steroids, big-time. It's really amazing.

I made a SNES bank with it. :) It's still a work in progress, but damned if it doesn't sound just like the real thing.

One thing I'd suggest would be for you to tune your samples. You don't have to tune them all to say... C3 or whatever, just make sure each one isn't between halfsteps.

At work, I have one of these things:

Hey Audigy you know of a program that lets me create a soundfont? I've got tons of complete sample sets that I could create some killer soundfonts with.

I know this may sound stupid, but back in the day, I found a track in Metal Slug 3 that was just a bunch of sounds playing sequentially, most of them the actual instrument samples. With a lot of spare time, I recorded what seemed to be the entire track, a very long one.

If you wish, I can send it to you, it'd be cool to see actual useful sample sets from Metal Slug. :p

There are some awsome samples in that game. Here's one example, mono and I put some loop points. What's great is in that wav you sent me there were entire octave ranges of most of the instruments...which will really help to match a tone/frequency.

Yea thanks again for the samples. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif> Sometime when I feel like it I'll add the looping to as many as needed then release the sample set to the public.
