If you are a StarCraft fan and or an RTS fan you HAVE to download the gameplay video. I couldn't stop drooling, I'm still rather speechless. I'd sell your children to be able to be a beta tester...

A starcraft MMO would have been way cooler. But an RTS? Yay.. we're back in 1996 all over again. whee.

I soooo disagree. Blizzard showed that they're still about games and not just money-whoring with this move. Enduring 40 hours of content stretched to 950 hours of grinding and being billed $14.95 all the while is not my idea of a good gaming experience. In general, I find the longer someone plays WoW (or Everquest, etc.), the more they regret it when they finally stop.

I'd be very suspicious of Blizz's motives if they announced MMO after MMO.

Yeah, no. Command & Conquer 3 was boring. RTS is boring. Starcraft 2 will be boring.

where's the direct download without this crappy blizzard downloader. It's like some porn site where you need their downloader to get content and they track you later or something, that and it doesn't work with my wireless connection since my ISP won't upload on P2P anymore. The fuckers could have just uploaded it to a dedicated server or something and put some ads on the page. I loved Diablo but this fancy proprietary online shit they have been using in recent years has got to go.

The reason for the download helper exe is to resume the file if you need to. If you have 56k then you should expect an entire day. But I got the file in around 3 hours last night.

If it's Bittorrent, try a different port and encrypting what you are sending through the bittorrent client.

I guess the ISP has implemented a program that can tell if something is P2P and just doesn't respond to the requests so you get 256k and then it stops and won't go any further. I don't think it's the port so much as multiple download locations as in more than 4 locations. They apparently found that P2P takes up most of the bandwidth and slows down everyone and it also makes it so they don't have the riaa or anyone else bothering them about usernames or subscibers or threats for sharing copywritten material. I can see they really do have good reason since most of the stuff on P2P is illegal and when you sign up with them as your ISP you agree not to do illegal stuff with their servers.

I know this is not illegal content but since most is how can they tell. They should have mirror sites to download from though in ftp or http since it is more convenient for someone like me.

I KNOW YOU ARE BUT WHAT AM I?

I hope I never know what it feels like to be the person on the internet arguing over what consoles or game genres are better.

What the fuck ISP is that draconian?!

Verizon blocks bittorrent, but if you randomize the port and encrypt the connection your gold.

thank you. I thought that downloader thing was familiar and as a true Penny Arcade fan I feel bad for not remembering that one myself.
