Image signature?

So I uploaded an image, it meets the height/width and file size requirements, it's showing up in control panel.

So then I used the

code to put it in my signature. When I post, instead of showing the image, it shows a link to the image.

I'm puzzled.

yeah I think it's stupid as well.
