I can pirate games, download porn, music and videos... chat... e-mail... and do a bunch of other useless crap. But when it comes to doing practical, real world stuff... I don't have any idea on how to use the internet.
I need to find a place in my area where I can take old motor oil from oil changes for them to recycle or whatever. Back where I used to live, I think we took it to Kragen auto parts... but I don't think they have those out here.
So yeah... I'm pretty embarrassed to admit -- but how would I use the internet to accomplish this goal? I really have no clue. I don't want to resort to just going throught the phone book and start calling every auto place I can find asking them.

If you have an older deisel engine, just strain the motor oil and use it for fuel. Works for me. I finished a little ratrod a few weeks ago and put an old nissan 4 cylinder diesel motor in it. That little son of a bitch runs on will run on what ever you put in it. Kerosine, motor oil, even damn cooking oil. Won't get up bast 35 but who cares.

Using a Google Maps as a prefilter can be useful. Punch "used oil (zipcode)" in as a query and you should get some relevant results to sift through.

pour the oil into your Ethernet port and plug it in, it'll go though the tubes with no problem /wwwthreads/images/icons/wink.gif
