I should clarify something. my previous opst was by no means meant to be offensive towards Essee. It's just that her saying it reminded me of the article that was just posted this(last?) week and I figured I would reply with it. In all honesty I would have done it to anybody.

It shows how crazy they really are.
Mormon Religion is considered a cult.
They used to be taught by Brigham Young that Adam is Michael the Archangel and GOD.
They believe we were spirit children on a location near the planet or star Kolob before we were born.

(Did some paraphrasing to clean up some awkward wording)

As far as western religions go, that's almost accurate. The top-most path has uncanny devotion to the Self (as in, the Self that resides in all beings, your true self, beyond your ego) leading to ascension to higher things, the path that leads back to Earth again is taken by people who generally conform to the conditions on Earth, and the path to lower worlds is reached by people who destroy, enslave, and harm the Self for their own ego's gratification. It corresponds pretty nicely to the three modes of nature in Vedanta (Hindu) philosophy: goodness, passion, and darkness. I think the Mormons probably believe that its literal, but it really has to do with the type of environment and body that the Self creates for itself to incarnate into and form an ego within, based on its desires, tendencies and attachment to concepts like space, time, etc. You don't have to listen to me, though :)
