Good GBA Games?

I just got a GBA SP from my brother. Before I just had one of the GBA's without a backlight and couldn't see jack, so I really don't have any idea about what good games there are for it from the last couple years. Any suggestions you might have are greatly appreciated. Action, adventure, puzzle, ports, etc... whatever's good. I'm not real big on RPGs, but if there's any real kickass ones out there, I'm open to those too.

Gunstar Super Heroes
Final Fantasy IV
Metal Slug Advance. (I read somewhere that a port of the Neo Metal Slug was also in the works)
Pokemon games.
Also, I don't know if the SP dropped GB/GBC compatibility, but if it didn't, I add Tetris to this list.
The Mario & Lugi games (Superstar Saga I think it was called)
Advance Wars.

That's about all I've played on my GBA (Launch purple non-backlight FTW.)

There is a metric fuckton of shitty games to wade through when it comes to the GBA though, from what I've seen.

My favorites:

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls
Final Fantasy IV Advance
Mega Man & Bass
Mega Man Zero
Mega Man Zero 2
Metroid Fusion
Metroid Zero Mission
Sonic Advance
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: Four Swords
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

It didn't.

Mario and Luigi - Superstar Saga
Riviera: The Promised Land
Any of the Fire Emblem/Advance Wars games are prolly a safe bet.
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap (of course)
The Final Fantasy remakes
CIMA: The Enemy
Boktai 1 and Boktai 2
Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion
Any of the Castlevanias, but most of all Aria of Sorrow

There's more of course, but heh, this would keep you playing for quite awhile.

No. These suck. Agreed on all other counts though.

You guys kick ass. Minish Cap, Superstar Saga, Aria of Sorrow, the Megaman games, Metroids, Sonic, Harvest Moon, and a few others all sound purdy damn good right now. How much does your average game go for?

$20-$30 for most of the ones on those lists. Though, you can get a flash cart for the price of about 2-3 games these days.

Dark Macc beat me to it on Fire Emblem 7.
If you're gonna try any of the Pokemon games, Emerald's the one.
I love Tetris Worlds. I also have Namco Museum (Ms.Pac Man, Galaga, Galaxian and Pole Position on the cart) and Williams Arcade Classics (Defender, Robotron 2084, Joust and Sinistar on that one).
I reccomend 'em all... Namco Museum I got at Wal-Mart for $ 10. I paid $ 15 for Williams Arcade and same for Tetris Worlds.

Don't forget to check your local flea market/trader's outlet. I went to one two days ago - a place called the "Trader Baker Mall". It's where I tend to get nifty things for decent prices.

Like I got Mega Man X3 for the SNES, loose cart-only, for $30. Better than what I've seen on eBay. And two days ago I picked up The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap for the GBA, loose cart-only, for $10. They also had Metroid Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission for the same $10 price point. :)

Lets see
1) Any Castlevainia game; Aria of Sorrow is the best, but they're re-releaseding in a douple pak with Harmony of Dissonance; Also Classic Nes Series Castlevania's are the old Nes ones
2) Any Megaman Game; Megaman Zero's probably should be played in order; Megaman & Bass and Megaman Aniversery Collection(if they ever finish it) are sepeate games; Some people say avoid a certain latter Megaman Battle Network game(either 3 or 4 I forget)
3) Any Wario game; Yes Wario Land 4 is the platformer while Wario Warez is the other
4) Any Fire Emblem game
5) Any Metroid game except Classic Nes Series Metroid. It's a waste of money as you get the original Metroid with Metroid Zero Mission, when you beat it once.
6) Any Pokemon game that not a pinball or other tack-on; With this said Emerald & Fire Red or Leaf Green should be what your looking at, since Ruby & Saffire are older and Emerald has all of their features plus more
7) Golden Sun 1&2
8) Mario & Luigi: Super Star Saga
9) Any Zelda game; although ZeldaLttP & Four Swords is just LttP if you haven't some one else to play with; Classic Nes Series Zelda's are just that; the GBC version of Link's Awakening & Oricale of Season/Ages still work, unless it's a DS or GBAmicro
10) Any Kirby game
11) CIMA: The Enemy
12) Riviera: The Promised Land
13) Any Final Fantasy game; Some peole hate Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, so it might want avoiding.
14) Sword of Mana, it's not Secret of Mana but still a nice remake of Final Fantasy Adventure
15) Any Shining game; the Shining Soul games are quick action dungeon hackers; Shining Force is a remake of the original
16) Any Sonic game; I'm hesitant to list them because I haven't played them and some don't think they live up to the old Sonic Rep
17) Wait two months & go grab Tales of Phantasia
18) Mario vs. Donkey Kong
19) Drill Dozers, that's Nintendo's new odd ball Platformer that should be out
20) Any Treasure game, that's the Gunstar games & Astroboy game.

That's about all I've got here.

I think they've canned that, from what I read capcom is willingly giving refunds to people who preordered it from their site or something.

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon/Harmony of Dissonance/Aria of Sorrow
F-Zero Advance
Mario Kart: Super Circuit (I think that's what its called)
Metroid Fusion
Metroid: Zero Mission
Wario Land 4

There are more but those are the ones that immediately come to mind.

Golden Sun is the only good RPG I've seen on the system, but even it wasn't terribly good. The story is rather canned and slow (like most Shining Force games, which were made by the same company).

For action games:

King of Fighters EX2: Howling Blood
Metroid: Zero Mission
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
River City Ransom EX
Mr. Driller 2

That's the only good games I know of on the system. Stay as far away as possible from the Lufia game, it's utter dugshit.

I find it a bit odd that no one has even mentioned the SMB advance series. They're pretty good, even though they are rehashes of old games, they're still classics.

You know, it's about damn time on this one. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif> I'm hoping and praying the new Tales game for the DS will come out somewhere other than Japan eventually as well...hm, what's that one called? Tales of Tempest isn't it? (or am I confusing it with the PS2 game?)
