I just installed several new extensions today which put my total up to above 60 currently installed.

Some of my favorites include:

Stumble Upon - The single greatest web innovation since the web itself. You check all the subjects you're interested in, then press the Stumble button and it takes you to a random page from one of those subjects. You can rate the page thumbs up or down and it will start giving you pages that were rated thumbs up by people that share your interests and ratings.

FlashBlock - Replaces all Macromedia Flash objects with a start button and won't download/run said objects until you tell it to. A must have for dialup users or people who just hate unnecessary Flash.

But Me Not - A really handy interface for www.bugmenot.com which is a site that stores login/password combinations for sites that require free registration, primarly newspaper sites. So if you go to a New York Times article and don't feel like forking over your e-mail address just to read one story, you right click, hit BugMeNot and it pops up a little window with a login/password for that site.

GMail Notifier - Monitors your GMail account and informs you when you have new mail. I think I saw a new extension that also does Yahoo Mail.

Jump Link - You know how some places, Hotmail being the biggest offender, will load links with their own little banner across the top? Right click on said link and hit Jump Link and you'll bypass that.

Nuke Anything - Remove any object from a webpage until you reload. Quite nice if a particular advert/image/textblock is annoying you.

Open Long URL - Allows you to paste a multiple line URL and ignores the line breaks.

I still haven't configured all of the new ones I installed today but I generally go through the entire list once every 2 weeks.

Other great ones:

googlebar (a non-official Googlebar made for FireFox, like the IE version but better)

OpenBook (adds bookmark sorting more like in IE, much easier to organize your bookmarks now)

Nuke Anything (allows you, with a single right click, to nuke just about anything, making it dissapear...includes whole frames, pictures, annoying animated GIFs, Ads...etc)

Anidisable (allows you to disable GIF animation on a GIF by GIF basis. You will still see the picture, just not the animation)

AdBlock (blocks banner ads, right click then and disable them...the next time they pop up it'll filter them right out and you won't even see them)

Translate (integrates a menu for Babelfish into FireFox)

Linkification (VERY useful...makes a plain text URL, say this one here : http://www.zophar.net into a clickable hyperlink)

Sort Bookmarks: (Allows for alphabetical bookmark sorting...nice.)

Scrollbar Anywhere. (allows scrolling anywhere on a page while the right mouse button is held down. It may sound clunky, but it's not, and it doesn't interfere with normal right click menus at all)

Dude, this addresses a major annoyance I've had with Flash for some time now since I'm on dial-up. I thank you for pointing this treasure out to me. BTW, since there was no official welcome for you on the boards, welcome to Zophar's Domain *dramatic pause*.

I didn't know I annoyed you. Sorry.

*hits play button then reads post* Wha? Oh, unexpected feature.

Oh, and btw, Anidisable either enables or disables ALL GIF animations on a page. I don't know why I said it worked the other way before.

I'm using Tabbrowser extensions. It allows me to set the positions of the tab menu (tob, bottom, left, etc). Also, what's a good place to download all of these extensions, and is there an extension that'll let me hide the text on the titles of the tabs?

you need the japanese tab browser extensions from http://white.sakura.ne.jp/~piro/xul/_tabextensions.html.en

only thing missing that slimbrowser has is hiding tabs...

sorry for the bump...but I need help. After upgrading to 1.0 I lost some functionalilty...mainly the mouse gestures. However, I can't seem to find the mouse gestures that I had installed. It's the one that when you open the option it has 3 tabs. In one of the tabs there are 20-40 customizable options to choose from for your gestures. Can anyone help me find this one?

The best thing to do, I've found, is to go into Tools --> Extensions, then choose the Update button. Any extensions that have not been updated to work then, right click on the extension you're trying to update and pick the option to go to their website. I found updated versions for almost all of my plug-ins that way, and the other extensions that I couldn't find just don't have updates quite yet to make them compatible...like FireSomething for example.

I know how to force compatibility, but unfortunately I b0rked my profile and had to start over from scratch :(
I am now SAVING the extensions and installing them one at a time...then I will make a backup of my profile...I should've learned how to do this before...I still have my profile with the b0rked settings...I wonder if I can fix it....

When you encounter an extensions that FF 1.0 won't load, rename the XPI file into a zip file. Open it, edit install.rdf and modify the MaxExtension entry to 9.9 or something like that

Some extensions installed this way **DO** break the browser, so be sure to backup your profile directory first! (I even made a custom program, derived from a program I had to copy a distribuition of the shooter game I was doing, to backup my profile to a folder named [mm-dd-yyyy-hh-dd-ss] to ensure I get a different rollback time every time I run it )
