Yeah you know you love it. If you can do the Bart, you're bad like Michael Jackson.

-- For those of you too young to remember, back when the Simpsons were still young, Bart was took center stage on the show due to his rebel "cool" factor. Of course this was before the show was actually funny. Nonetheless, the show was wildly popular of course, which meant Bart was wildly popular. Popular enough to warrant his own song... along with an animated music video (linked above).

The song is "Do the Bartman". A pop/rap trying its hardest to mimic Michael Jackson. It came out in 1991. Freaking 15 years ago -- man that makes me feel old.

Seeing this and reliving the memory for the first time in over a decade really made my night... so I decided to share it. ENJOY!

What makes me feel old is the fact that Bart was seen as a rebel back then. By today's standards he's practically a choir boy.

I don't think it was his antics, but rather the swearing. He uses a lot more foul language in the older episodes. Kids imitated that and a lot of parents got pissed off. And, of course, by "imitated", I mean "continued to swear as usual, but now had an animated tv rolemodel for parents to place blame upon".

The funniest thing in this mv is the retarded step shuffle the kids are doing at the beginning and end. <img src=smilies/laff.gif>
