I want to take the audio/video off an existing DVD and burn a new DVD with portions of it removed... while adding chapter points and stuff. Basically -- I have a DVD of recorded shows, and I want to insert chapter points between each episode and clip out the commercials.
I have borderline zero experience with this stuff -- so I'm asking for recommendations on what programs I can use to accomplish this. I don't need anything super fancy.
My computer is pretty old -- P3 1GHz, 512 MB RAM, 64MB ATI Radeon 7200 series AGP, running Win2k SP4. I don't mind dealing with slow computing -- as long as the process is possible and the final product is not affected.
I don't have a lot of money to blow on software -- so if something works and is free, I'll take it over something that has bells and wistles but costs more.
So.... what programs do I need to do what I want to do?
