computers fucked up

so last night we had to reboot the computer due to it refusing to login. Go figure. But now its even worse. We keep getting a spyware pop up that ada aware won't get rid of, and when i try to run microsoft update to get the xps2 update again it says it is checking to see if we have the latest version of the microsoft updating software, then just stops. and does nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Spyware search and destroy might help and maybe you ought to get Windows antispyware to. I haven't used that MS product but I've heard from here and the Pad that it really does kick ass. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

Fixed the popup problem, turns out it was due to currently having no firewall. Now I just need to fix the "Can't update windows" problem.

I highly recommend visiting each homepage of something you want to download first to get the full story on the particular program so you know what your actually getting.
