Yeah, you heard that shit right. It's a fucking phosphor filter. You can actually MAKE your old school games look like it was from an actual SDTV!. This filter will single-handedly kick you in the nuts or headbutt you in the ovaries so hard, your future children will feel it coming, it is just that damn awesome. Take a look at this shit:

I hate you for posting images so goddamn huge that it's taking me half an hour just so the page can load. >:|

you know, until I saw this topic, I had forgotten how much of a difference my monitor is when compared to my old tv. going to have to check this out :)

Well, I've always used Zsnes's interpolation, but I'm interrested on trying this one. Is there anyway to implement the filter in Zsnes, or I'll have to wait for another release/ use another emulator ?

As far as I know, it should be implemented in bsnes soon. It's going to probably be a while before the zsnes team releases anything, let alone implement a filter.

As for snes9x, I have no clue.

LOL! I can honestly say I feel your pain, man! Many, many years of suffering through dial-up, I have. Until I moved out of the boondocks and got DSL. Your message just hit me with a flood of nostalgia of the EXACT feelings I used to have. Trust me, if you ever get lucky and score some broadband, you will ejaculate all over your monitor from the sheer awesomeness much like you would have if you actually got to see these images...har har har! (Sorry, I couldn't resist)

Anyways...

In regard to these awesome screenshots: thanks for saving me the trouble of having to look up porn tonight, I can totally rub one out to those beauties.

This is cool! I like the individual phosphor approach, but according to my SD NTSC CRT and my toaster NES, the phosphors shouldn't bleed at the top and only to the sides, but there should be a slight glow as the beam is not a perfect square. Each phosphor is just in some kind of grid in no real order across the front of the tube in a brick like pattern. This also means that each phosphor of red or blue should still light up from the electron beam being so close and the beam itself is just adjusted left or right to hit a color on the grid. White hits the hardest. With a lighted pixel to a black pixel on the right you can see a flicker where the beam turns off.

Whats up with that one middle pixel on the left and right on CRT TVs where it cuts off the rest of the vertical line?
