Avatar Resizing

It'd be nice if I could specify the size of my avatar. I like the pixelated look, but it doesn't auto-resize any more.

You could just manually resize instead, like this:

Yeah, but then the .gif increases in size by half a dozen times...

Yeah, that was 4x. I figured you'd want it that way, what with everyone moving to avatars around 100px wide. But here's 3x instead for you:

Not If you optimise it shouldn't, especial when very few of the pixels change between frames.

Well, I thank you for the effort, but I prefer it animated ;)

Care to point me to software that'll do it? I constructed the animation in GIF movie gear; at 3x the image becomes 50kb

Edit: Just tried 5 different programs, none of them gave me any significant gains. I think I got the filesize lowered by 200bytes or something. Yippee.
Edited by Canar on 10/29/04 02:45 AM.

I can't get any decent gains either, even when I change the mode for each frame to combine it only goes down to 42 KB and then it looks like crud because of how you use transparency. Despite how it looks there really is a lot of variation between frames.

Well scratch that the old transparency screws it up, but with out it on it does work.

I can do it, but I think Swampgas et al will kill me if I tell
