I've made $17 off of this so far (it's sitting in my Amazon gift certificate balance, but you can also initiate direct deposits into your bank account)

It's basically a "we can't possibly automate this. We need human eyes, and we're willing to pay you!" system. Seems extremely trustworthy, and it's encouraged multiple threads of thousands of posts each over at SomethingAwful Forums (bloody thing encouraged me to get an account there. D:)

Very cool to do in my spare time... I'm never buying a video game strategy guide at a retail outlet ever again. (shh, I collect the things, and they're each $5 cheaper at amazon anyway.)

Anyone here try it? <P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by Audigy on 11/17/05 12:07 PM.</FONT></P>

What thousands? I see just 80 identical results, all with pay of three cents per task.

Edit: Oh, I see what they mean: For each listing (with a seperate listing for each geographic area where images were taken), there are many pictures to sort through.

sounds pretty cool, but how long did it take for you to make that much? An Hour? a few Hours? A few minutes?

inquiering minds want to know

It takes awhile. I'm doing it now and I've made a grand total of 15 cents in about 5 minutes.

that's only $1.80/hour

what I'm wondering is, your time really worth that little?

I dunno, maybe I'm just looking at this the wrong way.

Well, since I'm already getting paid $15/hr to sit in this chair here, it's more like $16.80/hr, which sounds ok to me.

I've been working on it sporadically (an hour here and there) since Sunday. Here are my stats from all-time

1156 submitted
716 approved
41 rejected
399 pending
total earned to date: $21.48
(though a few dollars of it have not transferred to my available balance yet, that sometimes takes a few days)

Think about it this way, if your HITs are all approved, that's a buck for every 33. If you're slow, you'll crank out..maybe... 4 a minute. (I guess I do 6-8 a minute) so do the math :)

Not good for a full-time job, but damn good enough for me to never have to pay for a strategy guide again. :x

well ok, I see what you're doing, clever. Just make sure you you put your work first and don't get caught /wwwthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

How the hell can you do them that fast? I have to skip most of them because they either have no address (talking about Image Adjustment Locations here) or I can't tell where they are.

7.20 an hour, not bad. I might think about it. Good find. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

Damn, you must've been bored, I did nine so far and am sick of it already...

Dude, there's a "none of these images" selection. You can get approved if you select that and it's correct. :D

Tips:

Increase your screen resolution
Increase the number of lines your mouse scrollwheel advances.

Image adjustment locations are the only tasks available right now. This entire system has incredible potential though. Please remember that it's just in beta... and that they are making changes to it literally every day.

with the one I was doing, I had to do the none of these images like 90% of the time. Who the hell takes these pictures anyway?

I have it on max res and I tend to use the keyboard for navagation.

I see. Anyway, one more thing. How long does it take for them to be approved or not? I did around 41 and I have yet to get any results

Interesting. Kinda very mindnumbing though. I made a Greasemonkey script that'll select the image when you click on it (instead of having to click on the radio button). Managed to get about 4 done per minute that way.

anyway you can upload it?

I'll try it as an attachment. Lemme know if it works. Keep in mind that the site is still beta, so the source may change and the script might not work or end up breaking some other feature.

edit: you might need to lob off the .txt . ZMD won't take .js files.<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by Ugly Joe on 11/17/05 11:55 PM.</FONT></P>
