well, im working on translating Full Metal Alchemist for the GBA, and i've encountered a few problems.

mainly, finding the japanese font.

if anyone can direct me to the font, as in where it is located in tile layer, that would be great.

i was told about extracting and reinserting the BIOS for this game, but I have no idea how. If anyone knows anything about this, then please help me or direct me to a document.

thanks in advance,

It uses a Shift-JIS font layout. That is, I loaded up my Shift-JIS table and I could find the intro text. If you want to find the font itself, open it in a tile editor and view it in 1bpp mode. Scroll through the rom slowly and keep your eyes open. Not a fast proccess, but it usually works. If you really want to dump the font, you'll probably have to learn to use Fedian.

Edit: It's a partial Shift-JIS table. I can change things to other kana without a hitch, but certain kanji and any roman letters will only turn up blanks.
Edited by Ugly Joe on 03/04/05 07:10 PM.

BIOS? The game has it's own BIOS?
