I'm having a massively pain in the ass time with Tile Layer Pro, trying to change the font on Bakumatsu Kourinden ONI 2.

Heres a more enlightened version: I found the area where the game stores it's Naming font (The one for the naming screen) in Tile layer Pro, but that isn't the problem. The problem is that the font won't display properly. Since it takes 2 tiles to comprise 1 letter, there happens to be a space in between each letter "Tile" on the naming screen.

It wouldn't be a problem if this were the case with the original font, but it's not. There is no space in between the 2 "Tiles" for the Japanese Characters.

Of course, I haven't even begun working on the actual font the game uses for text, that will come later.

Oy vey...I need tylenol...

If any of you have played the game, you can imagine how it would be like playing the game in English.

Anyways, if anyone can help me solve this or suggest a better program to use, then let me know PLEASE :)

Thanks :P

I wrote it.

It's been out for over a year now, it's just nobody really cares because it's command-line based instead of clicky-clicky.

Man, this program kicks more ass than any of them out there! How can it be worse, besides being command lined...So are alot of text dumpers out there, but nobody is complainin about them...

Anyway, great program! But I think it's something in the background that makes it like it is...Thats just a theory, or the font is bigger than 12x16...

Get the GameBoy 8x8 tile definition from the website. Use these command lines:

feidian -cr gb8,16,48,0xc941e oni.smc oni
feidian -r 16,12,16,48,0xe0218 oni.smc oni
