I have tried to hack this game before but failed. So now I have some questions.

1. Using FF3usME how do you save changes to the weapons/items.

2. How do you change item desriptions?

3. How do you change weapon looks?

I feel like this smilie <img src=smilies/retard.gif>

Did you try using a button called Save?

> 2. How do you change item desriptions?

You will have to do it on traditional way, since there isnt any editor that can do this. Or at least i think there isn´t.

> 3. How do you change weapon looks?

This is a hard one... Anyways, what´s wrong with the weapon look?

There is no save button(or I can't find it)

What do you mean by the "traditional way"?

I just think that I could make the dirk and other stuff look cooler.

I suggest you use FF3edit, doesnt change the looks of the weapons but has alot of good tools.

I mean by using a hex editor and a table file.

I know about that but renaming things gives me a problem such as tring to get the symbol (like swords or shields) to apear<sp>.

I would not recommend you to edit item names in FF3edit because some scary bug screws up your rom(it screws up the sprites).
It did so to me.<img src=smilies/cry.gif>

Get a hex editor and play around. It isn't that hard.

I made a small tool that will handle this data, for all the weapons in FF3/6. It's not much, and little better than a hex editor, but it will do what you are wanting done.

Your welcome. :) I'm afraid I don't have any sort of hex value listing for color palettes, I can only reccomend that you experiment, or look at other weapons. Have fun, and post something cool with whatever it is your doing.

I used the sprite editor to fix the problems caused by FF3edit

Mind if I post this to our archive? Sounds like something that'd be useful to others as well.
