hey guys,

i've only dabbled in n64 emulation so i really don't know what's out there. i own a paper mario cart so i'm legally entitled to have a rom of it, which i do and i'm wondering which emu i should use for the most faithful emulation. the new paper mario game is really making we wanna replay the old one but i don't want to drag the n64 out.

specs are as follows -

athlon xp 2200+
radeon 9700 pro
512mb ram
soundblaster live 5.1

thanks in advance,

dp

All I can tell you is that PJ64 will play it, and to use a thirdparty (not included with PJ64) graphics plug-in, such as Rice's Video Plug-in. Apparently the default plug-ins flicker really bad. O_o

*Read PJ64GameFAQ for this info, don't have a ROM of Paper Mario myself*

Use 1964 with the newest version of Rice's Video.

i tried project64 since it was so easy to setup. had a lot of popping and cracking in the sound. i'll give 1964 a go as soon as i do a format and update my drivers. thanks for the suggestions and keep them coming.

If PJ64 gives you any problems which it shouldn't but who knows then check out Mupen64 which seems to have great compatibility running games other emulators don't.

Here's that Video Plugin (http://www.emutalk.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=18140) you recommended since I couldn't find it in the archive. I could just be looking in the wrong place though but this is the latest one to my knowledge.

Hm, it SHOULD be in the archive somewhere, but it seems this is a version fixed (more recent build?) from the one I have. Cool.
I'll try it out with Sin and Punishment tommorow.
