I invent far too much free time for myself, stay pretty deeply involved in emulation, and know enough HTML to make my very simple web site.
If you need help I exist...

Stop by the channel. Hopefully I'll be there, if not leave me a PM.

Is posting news from other sites allowed? I mean, not copying the whole thing adverbatim, just if I could use anything as a source for the news?

Hearing about an emulator release on another emulator news site and posting about it here is perfectly allowed. It's generally considered polite to give them credit (though proving you heard about it on another site but didn't give credit is an impossibility).

I was once told to look at Emulators Unlimited (http://www.emuunlim.com/) for things to post, but I've found I more prefer emulation number 9 (http://www.emulation9.com/) now (it's actually my homepage).

Yes, it's perfectly allowed. If it's common knowledge among the emulation community, I don't credit anything. If someone sends me information through email or the news submissions, I will credit them. If the news comes from a specific emulation site, I credit them. And yes, Emulation 9 is an excellent site for updates. They don't cover everything, but they cover quite a bit and it's usually very up to date.

i always suspected emulation9 used some sort of script to keep track of updates (e.g. hercules snapshots)

Well, I'll attempt to throw in an hour or two a day, if you're interested.

I've been around a while; I like to think I know a bit about the scene. :)

Hmm... Not sure what sections I really have experience in... Just the mundane ones: Windows/DOS emus mostly. And I like playing with new utils.

Meet me on IRC sometime. I want to have you, Gil_ (Khaless), and hcs as newsposting staff. You would all be a big, big help. If you can't get in contact, just pm me on IRC or either here.

Is it the same channel as the old Zophar chan was? (I mean like a couple years ago, I used to go there quite a bit...I should drop by more often :P)
