Hi guys, I'm actually trying to extract informations from "Silent Hill" for PSX. I've got an original copy of the game. But I dunno where to start. I would like to take texture, 3D ojbects, and so on.. Plz.. if someone could drive me you would all be very welcome... sorry for the noobish approach.. I'm a programmer... but never got into PSX dev... and now I'm very short in time... thx again for the attention... Crash..

you may want to direct this question http://www.romhacking.com/battleground/viewforum.php?f=12here</a>. i think they are all better suited to answer.

also, there are a few basic programs for ripping things like .tim, .tmd, .str .xa et cetera: http://www.zophar.net/utilities/psxutil.htmlhere</a> and http://www.romhacking.com/utils/graphics.php#psxhere</a>

i've had a few problems running a lot of the tools on my current system.. it's been generally acknowledged that any type of PSX hacking is extremely hard to do with an XP, so keep that in mind.

i might as well mention http://www.tales-cless.org/thepsxdoc.txtthis</a>.. sad to say these methods are older and directed towards translations, but still applies to hacking in general. if you get some of these to work for you, more power to you. i just know that many have not been able to.

i've barely dabbled in anything PSX related beyond poking around with some .tim and .str and cd image files a while back. so i can't really offer much on first-hand knowledge. hopefully one of the above mentioned items will get you on track. good luck
