I wasn't sure wether to post this here or in Tech Talk so mods feel free to move it if you deem it neccesary.

Anyway, I have one of those old Flash Linkers, and I have been trying to dump some of my cartridges, but the thing seems to refuse to give me a dump that is recognized by any auditing program (for example, GoodGBA), so I have to wonder why that is. I have seen this with two games, CIMA: The Enemy and Super Mario Advance 4 - Super Mario Bros 3 (US versions both, by the way). I have dumped seven other cartridges I own with no problems whatsoever, so basically I guess I'm wondering if recent cartrdiges like Mario there have some sort of a copy protection preventing them from being dumped properly by my device.

Any suggestions on how to get this to work correctly?

*edit*
Ok, so I guess that Mario game is technically called Super Mario Advance 4 - Super Mario Bros 3...has to be the most confusing title ever, that's probably why I never call it that. :P

Maybe your roms are too new for such an outdated program to recognize. If not, try cleaning the cart connectors with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Do you have an old cradle style linker or a cable that connects to the gba? Carts should dump just fine, there are no carts that detect such a thing, they all dump just the same.

Hm, well...unless the Flash Linker (old cradle type btw) is dirty, Mario at least should dump fine, I just got it the other day so it's actually quite new. I know both are listed in GoodGBA (and I believe the advance power.de DATs for CLRMAMEPro)...it hadn't occured to me that it could be the cradle being dirty, but then again I've not had any problems flashing my flash cart either....and I know the batteries are fresh as well.
