Running some SegaCD ISOs on Gens, but the sound doesn't seem to correspond to the movement of the character's mouths in the FMV scenes. Is there any fix to allow for correspondence?

Also, running a MegaCD bios and game, it seems to get on 50FPS, but running on a SegaCD bios and game allows for 60FPS, Is that normal?

what format is your game? bin/cue, or ISO/MP3? or is it a bin/cue made from an ISO/MP3? this makes a big difference with audio timing, as the encoding process can shave off critical seconds from the sound files.

*edit*

to answer your second question, euro mega CD games ran in PAL, which is 50 fields per second. US and japanese games ran under NTSC, which is 60 fields per second. this is why the FPS differs b/ween sega CD and euro mega CD games

I had the same problem with Lunar: The Silver Star while using an ISO+MP3 image. Turns out whoever encoded them to MP3s ended up adding an extra second or so of silence at the start. I tried fixing it, but without a frame of reference, it was so hard I gave up. I've resolved to only use BIN (optionally with a CUE file) images now since they don't have this problem.

Incidentally, Kega Fusion (which is now regarded as having more accurate MegaDrive/Genesis, MegaCD/SegaCD and 32X emulation than Gens) only accepts BIN images. This situation won't change, so don't bother asking SteveSnake.

You're talking about the European MegaCD BIOSes and games, so the answer is yes, they're PAL so 50FPS is perfectly normal. However, you'll get 60FPS with either Japanese MegaCD BIOSes and games or SegaCD BIOSes and games.

Is there an application out there than can convert an ISO+MP3 to a .bin and .cue file format?

Not a whole lot of use if it leaves the extra silence at the start of the track though. It won't get back the sound quality that was lost upon conversion to MP3 either.

I fear that ISO+MP3 images converted to BIN+CUE will end up getting distributed as if they were original BIN+CUE images.

well, he just wanted to know how they are converted.

i also agree with that fear, but there's little that can be done. it's going to be up to the person who distributes the bin/cue to honestly label the game as a real sega/mega CD rip, or a reconstituted ISO/MP3 image

One of the reasons I would consider converting to a .cue and .bin format was for the removal of the extra silence and maybe better matching with the FMV. I don't mind too much about the sound quality, but if it the conversion won't do any good, it makes me wonder if I should just stay with the ISO+MP3 format.

The ideal solution would be to ditch the ISO+MP3 image and find an original BIN+CUE image.

I'm not asking for any location, but are BIN+CUE images available on the net?

You shouldn't have even asked. <img src=smilies/headshake.gif>

I mean, the answer is obvious. "If you look hard enough, you can find anything". After all, the internet is a place where you can find pictures of girls with ten foot penises and shitting dicknipples. However, the place to ask whether or not you can find such things is not here.
