Download
========
You can download the emulator here. Only EM500 is supported.
But it occurs that other Cassiopeia PocketPC can also run it fine.

Unzipped with 3 files: applece.exe, APPLE2.ROM and CHAR.ROM.
Put them in the same directory anywhere you like.

This program requires GAPI to run and you can get it at www.pocketpc.com

To execute program, you have to obtain Disk Image with extension ".dsk".
You can find almost any program you remember at ftp.apple.asimov.net .
Disk image must be in "My Documents" directory (storage card is supported).

Play Game
=========
To play it, click "Insert Disk 1", select a disk image and then click "Boot".

Currently only PocketPC buttons are emulated as joystick buttons. If keyboard
is need, use the on-screen keyboard instead.

Joy Pad as Apple Joystick,?
Record or Menu as button 0,?
Action (Slider) or Contact as button 1

What's this project
===================
AppleCe is my first project to learn programming in Visual C++ (also eVC++).
At the same time I always want to play my favorite games, especially
Apple ][+ games (I am rather old indeed) on my EM500 but so far no one did it.
So I do it.

As I only own one PocketPC (as say before its EM500 and I love it!), I do not
have any plan in making it works on other machines especially those other than
MIPS.

Thanks
======
Since the last time (also the first time) I program in C is 11 years ago for
the assignment at school, I borrowed (better say stolen) some information
and ideas from other Apple ][ emulator and adapt in onto PocketPC :

AppleWin by Michael O'Brien
An advanced Apple ][ emulator for Windows, which is too advance that the
poor author cannot understand thoroughly.

Applelet by Steven E. Hugg
Most of my understanding in Apple ]['s operation comes from this unique
emulator (though written in Java).

M6502 by Marat Fayzullin & Alex Krasivsky
M6502 is the CPU core module used in AppleCE.

Disclaimer
==========
Currently many games are playable. These include Karateka, LodeRunner,
Crisis Mountain, Castle Wolfenstein, Apple Panic, Wavy Navy, Dark Forest,
Return of Heracles and etc.

As I am inexperienced in C programming, the code may be rather stupid with
some queer bug due to ignorance of the author. So be patient and pray that
he will amend it soon.

At last, this emulator is available as a freeware, no commercial use
(I doubt) is allowed. The author (that is me) do not whole any responsibility
in any damage and etc. Use it at your own risk! And if this emulator offends
any copyright, trademark or anyone's benefit, please inform me.

Especially thank you to my wife Ida Lau giving me time to complete it
without complaining my late sleeping.
