Emulator Release: fMSX BeOS 2.1 Released!
20:16: This one caught me while I was terribly busy at work, and unable to update. The lull in BeOS emulation was finally broken by a little fMSX port to the OS. It seems to be on par with the UNIX fMSX emulator, except for the fact that it lacks sound, a clean configuration interface, and some keys are not mapped. It does seem, however, that it shall be updated at least enough to fix these problems, and perhaps beyond.
You may find fMSX BeOS on our BeOS Computer page.

Maybe PSXEmu will be back later - When I'm in the mood to continue this - But I won't if it still goes the way it's going right now, since this isn't worth running the risk (what happened now) to loose some real friends.

Misc. News: Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 news
02:05: I recently found a preview for MvC2 on fighters.net and I thought I'd report on it here, because of a couple of unique features.
Firstly, the game will be released for Dreamcast and the Arcade at the same time. What is unique for the DC version, is that people who own the Dreamcast version can play it at home, and on the internet, and earn points which are saved to a VMU file, which in turn can be used to 'purchase' secrets, such as hidden characters and the like. You could also take your VMU to the arcade and earn another kind of points.
It's unfortunate, but there is a chance that the US arcade version won't have the VMU feature, and instead will rely on either codes or time release features.
The characters in MvC2 include Anakaris(Darkstalkers), Miss Tron(MegaMan Legends), Hayato(Star Gladiator/Plasma Sword), Jill Valentine(Resident Evil, I think), Cable, Wolverine(With or without Adamantium), Shuma Gorath, Iceman, Dr. Doom, and way more.Since I'm a fighting game fan, I thought I'd make a large post on this. Now back to emulator news.

Emulator News: Death in the family.. (It looks like RAINE)
11:18: It looks like RAINE is dead, unfortunately.
After two years in which many of us couldn't imagine life without the emu, it's gone.
Read the message at the RAINE homepage.
something interesting to note is the hidden message in the page source:
[!-- K????? B? M????? A?? L????? (O? A?? T??? T?? S??? T????) / M4X1MUM 0WN4G3 --]
As Retrogames was nice enough to find someone to transcribe, it supposedly means this:
[!-- Killed By Mamers And Lamers (Or Are They The Same Thing) / M4X1MUM 0WN4G3 --]
It is quite unfortunate that RAINE has suddenly died, and I know that I (for one) feel a sense of emptiness due to its passing. If it ever returns, I'd be quite happy. If no, I'd remember the memories the emu gave me.
Thanks to Torvus and Retrogames for the news.

It's clay shooting, remniscent of the game included with Duck Hunt, but with a digital pad, it's nigh impossible. If you use an analog controller, it might work, but digital is too imprecise to aim.

Misc. News: More Emulator Z info
22:36: I received more info on the Emulator Z emulation cart for PSX from Spiffmaster Cow. Apparently, it runs the games a bit slower than the actual carts on the machines, due to frameskipping. I received an E-Mail from someone saying it had very poor sound emulation, and no sound at all for some systems. Spiffmaster gives this explaination: "And yes, it does have sound, but it's about like running Massage with the PC speaker sound output option :P The SMS stuff is the same way. The Gameboy one doesn't have sound, but it does have SGB color support :) It functions as a plugin mod also, which isn't too shabby :)" For those of you that don't know, a plugin mod is an external way to allow your PSX to run import games, as well as backups of your games. Also, if this is something you are interested in purchasing, head over to SpiffCo Industries. He sells them for $12 and is a little more local than Hong Kong. :)
Emulator Release: Hu-Go 1.10

Check it out yourself at the Ai Trading Company's Website.

Misc. News: Genesis Project updated
13:11: In similar fashion to the G3 by The scribe, the Genesis Project is going through every known Genesis ROM, and testing it in KGen98 and GenecystXXX. Then, they document which ones work in which, what problems they have if they don't work, and then give you a comprehensive layout of information about the ROM, including File Name, Game Name, Author/Vendor, When the game was released, What Type of game it is, the Language the game is in, and then a descripion of the game. The current update adds the section N through O, and tidying up the B section, mostly with Game Genie files.
If you want to see this for yourself, head over to Genesis Project.
Misc. News: Rent video games over the net?
12:33: Well, if we can rent DVDs over the net, why not? I received the following E-Mail from Mark Boyko:
"Hi! I have some news that should be of interest to anyone who is an avid player and purchaser of console games. I have developed a sort of 'gamers library' where you borrow games instead of buying them. To my knowledge, this is the first video game rental service on the Internet! For a set monthly subscription fee, members are allowed to pick a game and keep it as long as they want. Then, when you're sick of the game, you just send it back for a new one. The idea is you can play more games for less money than buying at retail and be able to keep the game longer than you would be able to by renting at your local video rental store. Here's a url to a page explaining the concept in greater detail:
http://www.gotm.org/club/whatisthevgpc.htm
I'm just starting out with this idea, and as of now my game libraries are not too large. However, I think it would be a great service to gamers everywhere if this kind of idea could catch on. The idea is as more and more members join up, the game libraries will expand and provide a better service to game players.

Say... One moment, Sony asks for Bleem's source code, the next moment, they announce they're having huge trouble emulating the playstation on the ps2... Hmmm, why do you think they wanted the source?
Head over to the message board to discuss.

Misc. News: Microsoft X-Box specs revealed
06:39: In Microsoft's continuing quest to dominate the computer world, they have decided to enter the gaming world...by trying to beat Playstation 2. The project is code named X-Box, and some specs were leaked to a UK games publishing trade title MCV.
Here's the part you all want to hear. DVD drive, 56k modem, 1GHz CPU, 64MB ram, 4GB hard drive with a Windows-like OS. Yes, that's 1 giga hertz (1 billion cycles/sec). The unit is supposedly going for US$149. Quite a deal.
As many have put it, this may just be a ploy to knock down PSX2 sales...but then again, maybe something to bring the console and PC industry together is just what we all need. Simplicity of a console system with the power of a desktop system.
Thanks to Inferno for the email.

Media News: Correction and info regarding previous posts
22:08: The magazine that the emulation article I refered to in my previous post was actually Big Brother Magazine, and not Transworld Skateboarding Magazine. Big Brother Magazine can be visited online at bigbrothermagazine.com. Thanks to mikey b for pointing that out.
Also, within minutes of posting about the message on Blizzard.com, the message is now gone. From what I am reading, they relaunched the site with a new design. Sorry for any confusion. Now, back to the news. :)

Misc. News: BeOS Interest
21:21: I have been receiving a rather large ammount of interest from you, our readers, lately, about BeOS. Not to discourage questions directly to me, but I wanted to give everyone a small list of links. I shall likely put these on a larger, more informed BeOS p
age sometime after I am not so busy, and not so ill. These are a few links which may answer some questions, and save you a bit of time, in seeking any BeOS related answers, news, or information you may have..
Be Inc's main site.
BeNews. My favourite BeOS news site.
BeGroovy. Updated a little more frequently than BeNews sometimes, but not as in-depth.
You may also find a great wealth of knowledge on IRC #beos, on EFnet. BeOS 5 ought to be out soon, and remember: the basic version is free to download.
Utility Release: BeBochsConfigurator 1.0 Released.

You may find BeBochsConfigurator on our BeOS Utility Page.
BeOS Emulation has been rather slow lately. I suspect a smashing release of BePcEngine or BeGameboy soon though.
Media News: Transworld Skateboarding Magazine does article on emulation
20:55: Transworld Skateboarding Magazine has done a...unique article on emulation. The article talk about emulation, the legality, and has some strange analogies. Featured with the article are pics of various games, including BS F-Zero 2. You can view a scan

Misc. News: X68000 Games Pile updated..
03:34: I don't have very much to post about, but I might as well post about this. Some of you might know that I'm running a site called the X68000 Games Pile at http://x68k.retrogames.com. This page is dedicated to Japane
se computer emulation, such as the emulation of the X68000, PC-98, etc. I updated it the day before yesterday with 14 new PC-98 games available for download, so go snag them if you're interested. Also, the reason I haven't updated much lately is because m
y parents shut down my phone, so I can't connect to the internet at home, only at school.

Misc. News: More on UCITA..
01:18: Unfortunately, UCITA was already passed by the Virginia Senate unanimously, likely at the time I posted my message.
But, after receiving a bit of information from Grog, the probably may not be as bad as originally percieved. A large amount of misinformation has been going around about the bill, and here's a quote from him:
"The UCITA bill, as passed in Virginia, does not make any substancial changes to the laws governing software licenses.
"The 'reposession' element has always existed in existing law, and the bill in fact requires 15 days notice before any such software termination can be legally applied via automatic means (like across the internet). The law outlines many legal penalties f
or a company attempting to do so improperly."
Thanks to Grog for the info.

Misc. News: Virginia House of Delegates passes UCITA
15:12: InfoWorld and Slashdot recently reported about the passing of the UCITA bill in the Virginia House of Delgates by a unanimous vote.
In case you need to know, the UCITA (Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act) is a bill strongly supported by microsoft. The purpose of the bill is essentially to regulate how business is done on the Internet. The bill attempts to make the buyer and
seller equal in footing.
What are the problems with the bill? First of all, it's too broad, and could possibly limit the right to use some software. Secondly, there is a measure in the bill to allow a "repossession" of software for anyone failing to follow the software licensing
agreement.
It's quite a scary prospect, especially considering the "repossession" provision. In a way, it could promote a form of censorship and takes away consumer rights, which (of course) is never good.
Make sure you read the InfoWorld article or the Slashdot article before anything else.
Also, I've included a link with a list of state Senators in Virginia, who will also be voting on the bill soon. Please voice your opinion to your State Senator if you live in Virginia, because this is quite
important.
Thanks to MajereDB8 for the news, and hopefully a bunch of emulation junkies will be able to save the day. ;)

Site News: Important ZD Information
19:44: After well over three years of maintaining the emulation website that everyone has come to know as "Zophar's Domain", I have an important announcement for everyone. Effective midnight on Monday, February 14, 2000 I will be transferring all duties and responsibilities over to Kevin Young (XiP) of ZD.
Don't worry, I'm not quitting. :) However, after years of running a website, I feel it's time to take my first true extended vacation (not a 4 or 5 day break like there has been in the past). Tomorrow afternoon I'll be skiing at Shawnee Mountain for a week. I've never gone skiing before, and although I've been told to "Break a leg", I don't think that applies here. I know that Zophar's Domain will be in very good hands, so all of you have nothing to fear. Updates will continue as usual, but from now until I return, be sure to e-mail all things that you would normally mail to me, to Xip (see the contact page).
Thanks to everyone who's been supporting me for years, and I'll see you again in the future! I promise I'll get to everyone's e-mails eventually, so don't worry if you haven't received a response yet.
Thanks for visiting ZD!

There's also a special announcement within ZU4 regarding myself and this website, so if you want to find out what it is early... view (or listen to) the episode! This month's special guest is Marp, of YMAmp fame. Other topics include the recent DoSing of yahoo.com and other sites, and a conclusion to the whole "Rather A Pokemon Emulator" fiasco.

Site News: About the new FAQ being made...
23:19: Alright... I have now begun what will be my 'final draft version 1' of the all-new Zophar's Domain FAQ. I asked earlier if anyone could send me ideas on what to put into the new FAQ, but sadly, I have yet to receive any ideas. I would like to ask again if anyone had anything they'd think would go nicely in a ZD FAQ. As well, a new poll is up, it is FAQ related, asking opinions on whether or not I should create a frames-enabled version of the FAQ. It would be made after the first draft, and it would be used for easier navigation between questions and such. If you have any suggestions or questions related to the FAQ, or even news on homebrewn or free ROMs, please visit the contact page and drop me a line.

Misc. News: Final word on Tiger Woods & Mario
08:40: After countless e-mails, and many viewings of the following picture: tigeremu.jpg, it has been determined that the game he was playing on his computer was infact a clone of SMB called "MARIO VGA". Thanks to everyone who e-mailed in! Now let's put the matter to rest. :)
Emulator News: EmuDX status report
08:32: The official EmuDX (an arcade emulator with graphical improvements) homepage has been updated with the latest news on its progress. From the official site:
Firstly, a big thankyou to those of you who sent in constructive e-mail about the EmuDX1.0 release.
Due to popular demand, more games have been added both to the work in progress and games being considered list on the DX Status page. Those of you who would like to contribute with Graphics or music should also check out the page to see what games are available for new multimedia.
If you are having problems with joystick and or sound problems in 1.0, you will be pleased to hear that some fixes and additions have been made to the code, making it more compatible with more cards and pads, although a release with these fixes has not yet been confirmed or even considered at this time.
For those of you who have contacted me about contributing to the project and have not yet recieved a reply, do not worry, as there will be an e-mail sent out soon, with some details about the next beta cycle of the emulator and how you can contribute in the most efficient and painless way possible.
For a list of all the new games that EmuDX will support, be sure to visit the EmuDX site. Thanks to EmuHQ.com for the word.
Emulator News: RockNES progress
08:28: Over at the official RockNES (a NES emulator for DOS) homepage, Fx3 has posted his new progress report. From the official site:
A lot of stuff were optimized, but due the sound improvements (I guess), the emulation is a bit slow right now. The sound output is much better, but no envelope (fade in/out) or frequency sweep (Mario jump) yet, but hopefully that “long notes” problem was fixed. There´s an unknown problem with vblank/nmi scanline hit, different settings causes some games to work and others to hang, probably a CPU bug. No release date ´cause I would like to add some stuff requested in the GUI.
This is hot: do you know the game Mortal Kombat 3 Special 56 People (pirate)? Well, did you know there is ANOTHER game (hidden)? Yes, a “Mortal Kombat II Special” in the same ROM. It´s not a joke or ROM hack, here´s a screenshot to prove:
For the screenshot of MK2 Special, as well as other RockNES news, be sure to visit the official RockNES homepage. Thanks to Emusphere.com for the news.

Site News: Emulationworld DNS troubles
07:40: Early this morning, Emulationworld (the server that hosts us along with many other emulation sites) DNS information was tampered with. The following sites may have been affected:
*.emulationworld.com, www.rainemu.com, *.emucamp.com, *.darkmazda.com, www.hu6280.com, www.system16.com, *.emuunlim.com, www.dtmnt.com, www.nofrendo.org, www.emulationzone.org
Visitors going to the following sites may have been redirected to various outside websites with questionable content on them. This is not a part of Emulationworld or ZTnet, LLC., it was a redirection to an outside site. The previous listed sites were not hacked. For users still getting bounced around when visiting these sites, the problem should be fixed very shortly (for some ISPs that already updated their NS lists, the problem has already been fixed).
ZD was not affected. Be sure to come back here during the day for any updates on this problem.
Misc. News: Tiger Woods Super Mario stuff..

Thanks.

Media News: More news on the Tiger Woods update..
16:03: We've gotten a number of comments mentioning that our good friend Tiger Woods may not have been playing an emulator yesterday when the PGA tour got rained out.
Some people have said that he could've been playing a shareware clone of Super Mario World, others said he was playing Super Mario All-Stars, and still others have said that Nintendo actually released a PC version of the SMW game.
If anyone can CONFIRM what it was (no speculation), please tell us at the Contact Us page.
All I know is that whatever it was, it was pretty darn cool. ;)
Site News: Poll Update
15:55: Well, after much wrangling with the poll, we finally got it working. So, it's time for a poll update.
First off, here are the results from the last poll:
What do you think about the ZD newsletter?
Choice 1 was: "It's great, and I like to read it."
It received 115 votes (35.6 percent).
Choice 2 was: "I don't really like it quite that much."
It received 76 votes (23.5 percent).
Choice 3 was: "I haven't read it yet, so I don't know what to say."
It received 97 votes (30 percent).
Choice 4 was: "I don't care."
It received 35 votes (10.8 percent).
I guess the results are somewhat mixed, because a large percentage of the contingent seems to have not read the newsletter.
Anyway, here is the next poll, courtesy of Shade Eagle's idea:
"Should Shade Eagle create a Framed version of the FAQ for navigational purposes? A no-frames version WILL exist."
If you feel the need (which I know you do), go vote.

Misc. News: More on Final Fantasy IX, X, and XI
02:18: More information on the new Final Fantasy games has surfaced in the past few days. There's not really any plot details availible yet, but the overall style of each of the games has been revealed, and some trailers have been released.
For starters, FF 9 will be released on the PSX and will have a similar style to FF 7 and 8. It will have 3D characters on a pre-rendered background. The world in which it is set, however, will be different. FF 9 will be set in more of a fantasy world like FF 4-6 instead of a Sci-Fi world like FF 7 and 8. FF 9 will also bring back the MP magic system, classic airships, and probably much more.
There is much less information availible about Final Fantasy 10 and 11. They will both be released on the PS2, and they will introduce new styles of gameplay to the Final Fantasy series. FF 10 will feature a totally 3D environment as opposed to the 2D backgrounds with 3D characters used on the PSX. FF 11 has an even bigger change; it features online gameplay. Some will love it, and some will hate it, but, like it or not, that's where the Final Fantasy series is headed.
Thanks to The Gaming Intelligence Agency for the information. You can get the trailers from GIA too.

Emulator Release: BePcEngine 0.01 Released!
19:13: Here is the much larger news on the BeOS emulation front. Our dear french friend David Raingeard HAS a reason for slow updates to BeGameboy. This is it. BePcEngine's first release is amazingly functional. It runs quite a number of roms, and features the same GUI that BeGameboy has, although a few options are not available yet: save/load state, scanlines and screensize values. From the notes:
PcEngine Emulation, .PCE and other formats of roms, All scanline effects are supported, Start/Reset/Pause emulation, Frameskip : realtime or x1,x2,x3, Keyboard and Joystick support-with menu driven keyboard configuration-, Full multithreading, 15 bits windowed display, GUI, x86 R4.5
It runs at a slow, but rather smooth framerate on my p233mmx, by the way.

Emulator Release: BeMame 0.36b5 Released!
19:02: Quite a bit has gone on behind the scenes of BeMame which everyone may or may not know. Firstly, they have a new homepage.
You may have noticed that BeMame's progress has been slow, and it is far behind the other ports. This is due to the fact that the majority of the developers/porters have been extremely busy with other projects/life. To my knowledge there is only one person working on it currently, Jonathan Belson. He would rather like some help on the project. So if you are interested in helping and contributing to BeMame, please contact him on their new page.
Now, onto the update. This update seems a little strange. Other than bringing it inline with the .036b5 source, I would assume, a few things are actually missing, namely, Joystick support. Also, the emulator may crash if you load a rom while it is still checking for roms.
You may download BeMame from our BeOS Console page. And please do contact Mr. Belson if you have any experience/interest.
Emulator Release: BeBochs .5 Released!
18:29: Firstly I must apologize. I have been extremely ill lately, and not really able to do updates. Most of the BeOS community probably already knows about the updates.
BeBochs was updated to version .5. A nice release by all means.
01/30/00: BeBochs 0.5 released containing the latest Bochs source code with FPU and Pentium emulation. Added CD-ROM support. Ejection is not complete so you won't be able to eject a disk inside Windows (yet), and Windows98 should install correctly. Added primary configuration check to see if you have configured BeBochs correctly, and don't try to boot if incorrect. Working on SB16 emulation.
I am going to give it a bit of a whirl with 98 once I stop passing out every so often.
You may find BeBochs on our BeOS Computer Emulation page.
Misc. News: FF4 Ukraine hack
18:00: NeoBlaze is hosting the official web page for the Final Fantasy 2 US hack Final Fantasy 4 Ukraine. This is merely intended as a "spoof" version of FF2 US with altered dialog and stuff like that. Keep in mind that this patch has some explicit language in it and is not really intended for people under 18.
Check out NeoBlaze's site for screenshots and download! Thanks to NeoBlaze for the news!

The have decided to put advertisements in your BIOS. Imagine that, not even when you start up your computer could you avoid the banners that you have to live with while surfing the web. I suggest you go visit this site: http://www.weslow.net/bytethis/columns/phoenixbios_petition.htm and sign the Phoenix BIOS petition to at least try to stop them from putting advertisement stuff in their future BIOS! Site News: News and more news galore
05:17: Yo!
What's up everyone? I'm about a cheesesteak and two soft pretzels away from going insane, but that's OK! A few alcoholic beverages is all I need and I'll be up and at 'em in no time!
Things have been pretty crazy around ZDland over the last few weeks. I know I say this every time I post one of these updates, but I'd like to apologize to everyone for not being able to respond to your e-mails quicker. I want you all to know that I do read each and every one of your e-mails, and with patience you can be sure that I'll eventually reply to it (assuming you know from reading the contact page which e-mails I won't answer). Everyone knows that the heart of Zophar's Domain lies with its user base, its fans. So remember that the next time a few days pass and you haven't received a reply or some sort of recognition.
The NSM contest (number five) has ended, and boy were the entries close! A few more submissions need to be checked and I'll be able to declare a winner. The winner will be announced on Wednesday (February 2, 2000) so be sure to check back here then if you entered the contest or if you're just curious as to exactly who the winner will be.
The Scribe sure has been busy lately! From his recent D2 update to the ZD exclusive "Road Trip 2" (where the Lunar series is mentioned quite a bit, I might add), you can be sure that where there's life, there's text. And as everyone knows, "the pen is mightier than the sword". I wonder if the author of that quote knew that the keybaord was even mightier than the pen? Then again, if you ever saw the first Batman movie, you probably would go with the pen. :)
Overclocked! What? Yes, we always listen to our fans. We will no longer be posting about the emulation-related comic parody strip, Overclocked, on a daily basis. We realize that the entire world and their parents have heard about Overclocked by now, and we feel that shoving it down everyone's throats isn't the way to go. ZD will always support the comic strip, of course, but we will no longer post daily play-by-play updates about Fresh Green's debacles with Pretzel. We promise!
You've all noticed Chris Comstock (Shade Eagle) has joined ZD by now. The entire staff of Zophar's Domain would like to welcome Chris to the ZD family. If you have any Free ROM or FAQ related emails, be sure to send them over to him. He'll be more than happy to help you out, provided your email/news submission is within the rules.
A few weeks ago, we received some help from The Sheik with regards to some inaccurate descriptions on a few of our emulator pages. I haven't had the time yet to plug them into the various different pages, but they will be soon. I would mention a site that he had which was a great resource for translation hackers (as it contained various scripts for import games) but it appears to be down now. If it goes back up, we'll mention it here. Thanks a million, Sheik: I owe you one!
Well, that should wrap it up for tonight. I have 40 more e-mails to go, but I'm totally dead. I'll see you all same bat-time, same bat-channel. Once again, I would like to thank every single person that visits us, every website that plugs us, and even every constructive negative feedback. Whether you have good or bad things to say, what's important is that Zophar's Domain grows stronger with each passing day because of all of you.
Thanks for visiting ZD!
Site News: 6,666,666th visitor to Zophar's Domain
04:57: On January 21, 2000, a landmark hit was reached. One that will go down in ZD history forever. Once which happened over a week ago but that hypnotized me so much that I was unable to do the update. Well actually, I've been on a "ZD vacation lite". :) Congratulations to RollingSkull (what a name for the 6,666,666th hit, eh?) for being the 6,666,666th visitor to Zophar's Domain. He doesn't win anything except the recognition and respect of everyone (or at least me). Congratulations, RollingSkull, and may we have 6,666,666 more visitors in the future!
Site News: Metroid 2 Secret Worlds site joins ZD!
04:52: I'd like to welcome Jesse D.'s "Metroid 2 Secret Worlds" website into the ZD familiy. The Metroid 2 Secret Worlds website is a page dedicated to the two large areas in Metroid for Gameboy that were never intended to exist. It has everything you'd ever want to know about the glitch that made for some interesting game-time! All Metroid fans should be sure to give the site a visit.
Media News: Bleem! Countersues Sony
02:57: Well, if something absolutely shocking didn't happen to Bleem! at least once in a week, it wouldn't be Bleem!, would it? Anyway, this message board thread confirms that Bleem!'s creators are countersuing Sony.

Site News: New FAQ being made...
02:38: One of my jobs here is to create a new Zophar's Domain FAQ. For this reason, I'd like you all to visit the contact page and send me some questions that might look good on a Zophar's Domain FAQ. Note that obvious questions such as "where can I find ROMs" are already thought of.
I look forward to hearing from you all.
Media News: Censorship of Free Long-Distance on College Campuses?
02:27: Here's an interesting topic. Now, anyone who lives in a dorm room on a college campus knows that long-distance phone calls are the worst part of the whole deal. Well, Clemson University has decided to recently ban Dialpad.com, the most well-known of these sites, and is also doing it to a number of other ones as well (such as MyFreeLD.com and some others).
One of our readers has scanned the article from the school newspaper for us to read. He'd really like to get some feedback on it.
Here's the link: Combat censorship in Clemson!!
Here's the guy's e-mail address: lsrutko@clemson.edu
He wants to hear from college students in particular about the issue, so please e-mail him, especially if you live in a dorm.
