xmame v0.76.1
posted in Emulator Release by mfc on Oct 26th, 2003xmame, a port of MAME over to unix compatible systems, has been updated to v0.76.1. Unfortunately, the mirrors to download binaries of this release were out of date, or unavailable. However, here is what is new:
- Everything from MAME 0.76 and MESS CVS.
- The I/O section of the xmess manpage should be more up-to-date.
- Linux input devices that support absolute X/Y events -- lightguns, tablets, and touchpads -- can now be treated as lightguns. See LIGHTGUN_ABS_EVENT in the makefile.
- Added Operton/Athlon64 as a CPU option in the makefile.
- Added a LOW_MEM option to the makefile that prevents a memory explosion when compiling such files as x11_window.c with gcc 2.x.
- A leading '.' on a path new causes xmess to treat it as absolute. This allows "xmess.x11 nes -cart ./zelda.zip" to work.
- Set options.mess_printf_output so that xmess spits out more informative error messages, e.g., when it's unable to load an image.
- The "-list-dsp-plugins / -ldp" and "-list-mixer-plugins / -lmp" commands now cause the program to exit with a return value of 0.
