Emu Loader v4.5

Emu Loader is an excellent frontend for MAME and most derivatives by Ciro Consentino. This is one of , if not the largest, updates for this program ever. There are many, many, many changes. Here are the main points according to the webpage:

1. View game info directly from the web into the pictures preview panel, by using the almighty MAWS database :D Lots and lots of thanks to cutebutwrong for the MAWS support in the frontend. 2. Random Game Preview (a.k.a. MAME games demo). With this you can take a peek of random games that will be automatically selected and executed in MAME for a period of time. 3. Game Sequels. To be used with the grouped mode. Now you can group sequels of games in the same place, all indented into the game of your choice. How about put all sequels "Metal Slug 2, 3, 4, X and its clones" into "Metal Slug" ? No... ? How about grouping all KOF sequels into "The King of Fighters 94" ? No... ? Then how about grouping all sequels of Pac-man into "PuckMan" ? Just edit the new file "sequels.ini" and you're all set :) 4. Renewed sound clips. How about customizable stereo VU meters and a redesigned spectrum with new modes ? Big thanks to Leo Parnell for helping me with the vu meters algorithm :) 5. Custom game font. Yes, that's right. Every game in the list can now have its own custom font! :) 6. Automatic game information now uses the entire pictures preview panel, when pictures are disabled. 7. Full support for "MAME Plus!" and "No Name MAME" builds. 8. Random game type display when selecting games. When enabled, every time you select another game, you'll se a different picture type (title snaps, game snaps, flyers, marquees, cabinets, control panel and control panel layouts). Not enough ? Read "whatsnew.htm" file and weep. :) It may look that there is not much changes but believe me, I have fixed so many bugs that most likely, there are a few of them not in the fixed list. One sad news is the complete removal of the translation feature. No more localized languages, only English from now on. Warning: This release requires a clean installation. I recommend you not to update an older version or it can all go bust!The complete list of changes can be viewed right here
