Virtual Game Station
a Sony - PlayStation Emulator on the Macintosh platform<< Go to Sony - PlayStation emulators list
VGS was the second commercial PSX emulator to be released. Instead of trying to improve the performance of a game, VGS just strives to make it work. Thus there are no added features over the PSX, but VGS does run more smoothly than Bleem. The demo version of this emulator was released recently, and is crippled to a degree like Bleem. Normally, when you got the full registered version you can save your games, get 2 player support, and Game Pad support. However, this has all changed since Sony bought out Connectix. You can no longer buy VGS from them. Enjoy the demo, it still works, but you won't be able to save. The link will take you to Connectix's news blurb about how they will still support current owners of VGS until 12/31/01. Also note that VGS will NOT run in OS X even in the Classic environment, you have to boot into OS 9 if you want to run it.
