Name Description
Catman 4: Final Fantasy Part of a series of hacks that have something to do with cats.
Death Warriors A FF1 hack with a completely new storyline. This time, you play as a team of villians known as the Death Warriors (explained in greater detail in the .txt file) There are also some battle changes.
Dragoon X Omega II A full scale hack of Final Fantasy, nothing remains but the core programming routines. It features all new graphics, music, levels, enemies, text, statistics and more. Think of it as a “Total Conversion” for the NES.
FF1C What this patch does is changes some FF1US graphics over to the unsensored FF1 japanese version. What this includes is some crosses , pentagrams, a differnt ending boss, And a topless medusa. ugh
Final Fantasy '98 Final Fantasy '98 is a project done on final fantasy 1 for the NES. It will be a total remake of the game, including all designs and graphics. There may be some text hacking too.
Final Fantasy 1X Final Fantasy 1X changes the appearances of the characters in battle and makes some of the useless weapons, armor, and magic better. It also gives the black belt/master class his own set of skills.
Final Fantasy 2: Return of Lich This hack changes some of the storyline and graphics of the original.
Final Fantasy Annoyance This hack changes the towns into long mazes.
Final Fantasy before the 2nd this hack is about haan the name of the first dragoon knight mentined in final fantasy II the hack has a new story about 4 ORBS the characters can use any magic any weapon and any armor
Final Fantasy Bronze Very few graphics have been changed... the purpose of this hack was to rewrite the text for clarity, cohesiveness, and overall enjoyment.
Final Fantasy Deluxe Edition This is actually a very nice and imaginative hack of FF1. Difficulty is increased, but not ridiculously. There are new layouts and such. A very nice job by one of ZMD's own.
Final Fantasy Epica This is one of the more famous Final Fantasy Hacks. It’s completed and tells a story taking place a century after the original Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy I EasyType This mod makes Final Fantasy I for the Nintendo much MUCH easier, but, this does not however make the game boring. You just do not have to grind out level after level and that will allow you to enjoy the actual story and gameplay. Plus, who doesn’t like to walk around like gods?
Final Fantasy Original Technically, this would be considered a hack rather than a standard translation, as the author only changed things to give it the spirit of the Japanese version rather than look back and personally retranslate the text - name-wise, things are closer to the original version, but in terms of dialog the author only changed things that he knew were changed. In addition, all graphics altered for the North American release (and beyond) were changed back to their Japanese counterparts. I don’t think the enemy formations were reverted, however. Note that there are a few glitches such as the curser covering some of your selection. This hasn’t been extensively bug-tested and has apparently been discontinued. Regardless, from what I can tell, it works fine. So if you ever wanted to play an English version of Final Fantasy with Beholder, topless Medusas, pentagrams and crosses, now’s your chance.
Final Fantasy Plus This is a graphics improvement hack of the classic RPG game.
Final Fantasy Remix This patch changes the default characters in FF1 to characters in other FF games. It also improves some of the monsters.
Final Fantasy Revolution Final Fantasy Revolution is a complete overhaul of Final Fantasy 1, featuring new graphics, classes, magic, and a rewritten script.
Final Fantasy Style VII what this does it enables all job class characters to use all magic and all armor equipment but they can use better armor and weapons after the class change so it plays like final fantasy VI and VII
Final Fantasy Update An IPS patch for the US version of Final Fantasy of the NES. Updates graphics to about the level of Final Fantasy III on the Famicom, added chocobos and stuff.
Final Fantasy X This is a graphics improvement patch for FF1. Even though lots of graphics are changed, though, this group is trying to stay true to the original game.
Final Fantasy Zz Hard Type Final Fantasy Zz is a much more difficult version of Final Fantasy with a few enhancements designed to make the game more enjoyable and much more challenging. While Final Fantasy Zz is largely true to the original Final Fantasy, this hack contains multiple bugfixes, such as fixing the critical hit bug, the Black Belt armor bug, and some cosmetic bugs. There are also some improvements, such as the ability to buy 9 Heal Potions at a time, the ability to see what’s in a treasure chest without taking the item if your inventory is full, new magic spells, a slightly redesigned map, rebalanced classes, a few new monsters, and the ability to dash by holding the B-button. Many enemies have altered stats and some have new special attacks.
Final Fantasy: Extreme Beta 0.9 Version
Fortuna Fantasy What this patch does is makes a new story and quite a lot is hacked.
Frank Fnatnsy The game is a new version of Final Fantasy with increased challenge, new classes, new items, spells, and story. It is sort of a mixture of Final Fantasy I and an original fantasy setting. The readme file explains the new classes, the challenge can vary greatly based on your party. Most of the enemies have new graphics, and the ones that don’t do have new stats at least. There should be some fun twists and challenges, and there are 12 classes to pick from, right at the start, no class upgrade halfway through. It’s like Final Fantasy with a bizarre twist, but there are still swords, axes, magic, guns, airships, and stuff like that. Many of the graphics were modified sprites from other NES games or just outright pulled from them, so its kind of post-modern.
Frank Fnatnsy Remix A remix of Frank Fnatnsy by Zalbag. Many improvements due to over playing the game. Almost everything has been tweaked.
KL Final Fantasy This hack changes the storyline and graphics.
Knight of Argonia This hack called Knight of Argonia has a completely diffferent story line and graphics. The intro dialog screen is glitched up at the moment.
Mario Fantasy Adventure Final Fantasy onto a Mario RPG game. There's new graphics, new text, map hacking, and even some new musics!
Mario RPG:SUBCON's Revenge All the Final Fantasy heroes replaced with characters from the SMB series. Major villans also changed as well as other enemies, classes, abilities and the script.
Quadruple Dragons Quadruple Dragons is about four warriors that set out to revive the Four Orbs of the elements. You can choose from a Soldier, who is very strong in melee attacks, but is as dumb as a brick. The Bandit, who is very quick and is an average fighter. The Monk is very strong if you know how to use him. The Mage masters the art of black magic, while the Priest studies white magic. The Comic is useless... unless you get his character class up. In this game, all of the text, armor, weapons, magic, almost everything is changed from the original Final Fantasy. Even some of the towns and overworld map is changed.
Super Mario Quest The main character is Mario, with other characters added. Basically, it's an RPG with Mario in it...
