Default WTB: Used Playstation games

I've got an old PSX sitting around doing nothing, namely because I don't have any games for it. I completely missed out on a lot of the good PSX titles back in the day, so I wanna play 'em now. Here's what I'm after...

- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
- Megaman Legends
- Tactics-based RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics or Vandal Hearts
- Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus
- Any other good game you want to recommend.

Whoa man, you're in for gaming nirvana. If you want another cool tactical RPG, try Front Mission III or Tactics Ogre.
Megaman Legends I & II are both great. Aaannnd ... let's see, what else ... Vagrant Story is cool for about every reason besides its actual gameplay ...

I've been meaning to try that. I've got a copy lying around, so maybe I'll punch it up -- after I'm done playing all the Space Quests. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

In no particular order, since I think these are all excellent titles:

Silent Hill
Spiderman (the one made by neversoft based on the comics, before the movies came out)
Resident Evil 1, 2, 3,
Wild 9
Parasite Eve
Chrono Cross
Gran Turismo 2
Metal Gear Solid
Tony Hawk 2
Final Fantasy IX (best FF on the PSX, IMO.)
Einhander
Vagrant Story (one of Square's best playstation games, back before they turned to shit with the ps2.)
Parappa the Rapper
Spyro the Dragon (the first one. The sequels were not as good, i think but still a good series in its PSX run)
Ape Escape (Love this one. Came out back when the dual shock was new and used the Analog in a great way. You NEED a dual shock to play, as a matter of fact, wont work without the analog.)
Dino Crisis
Xenogears

and a bunch more than this, but that should be more than enough to pick from to get started. Unfortunately, I don't have any of them anymore, Sorta in the process of trying to acquire them again m'self.

How come no one's recommended Wild Arms 1 & 2? The PS2 remake of 1 is better than the original, but WA 2 is worth playing on the PS1.

Also, I agree with puzzl's recommendations, aside from a few I haven't played and Dino Crisis which I didn't enjoy at all. I kept playing it for a few hours hoping it would actually start being fun, but it never was. Not recommended.

Argh, I can't believe no one has mentioned the Breath of Fire series yet!

Both Breath of Fire 3 and 4 are good game, but from my experience you are proably going to like one of them, and detest the other. Personally I LOVED Breath of Fire 3, but didn't care for 4.

I think it's excellent although a bit overrated. I was hoping the remake would be an improvement, but instead ...

"I know! Let's have the original actors RERECORD their EXACT lines from last time -- we're looking to capture the flatness and disinterest that comes with doing a massive project all over again. Oh, but, one thing -- remove everyone's accents, because it's more interesting if each character sounds like an average, bland, American schmoe. Cutscenes? John Woo Rock n' Roll, baybe! That's what MGS is all about!"

Haw. I loved Twin Snakes As for the voices, they kept the sae actors in both games so the accents are the same. Maybe I'm wrong, it's been a while since I've last played the original MGS.
