Default Need new car

I'm conviced the mom and pop shop that fixed my car last time has seriously fuxxed my electrical system...among other things. I just put in a new alternator and battery...and they both are nonfunctional..brand new shit. Cranking amps may be bad...but no way on a car that's not that old with a good serivce history. So, I'm going to be working more hours...in physical pain...to afford a new car. I'm tired of owning used cars older than 5 years old. After days and weeks of research...my choice is narrowed down to the following automobiles--but aren't completely limited to:

In order of want:

1) 1999-2001 Audi S4/A4 (probably an A4 for insurance and gas milage reasons)
2) 1997-2003 Nissan Maxima SE model only
3) 2000-2001 Ford F250 Super Duty Diesel
4) 1999-2003 VW Jetta VR6 (will settle for any non-diesel model)
5) 2004 Nissan Maxima (any model)

These are the cars I want based on reliability, coolness factor, cars that I have driven on a more than one occasion or used on an extensive basis (or in the case of the Maximas or Ford cars that I'd owned or rented), cars I can haul my friends along in, cars I can haul cargo in, and cost/insurance/gas milage (minus the pickup on gas milage and or coolness). In short, I'm tired of buying "just another used car"...I want something reliable with a clean new look and feel. The newest car I've ever owned of my 10 cars I'm upto now is a 1999 Police Interceptor and my current 1998 SE-R. I want the Audi...I really want the Audi. German cars are fantasic...expensive to repair yes...but if you do regular maintience and TAKE CARE of them they will last forever. Heck, I wouldn't even mind the station wagon of the A4. My aunt owned an Audi that went over 250,000 miles before it was in an accident.

This is the Audi style I have in mind (I want an automatic not manual): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...524081657&rd=1

Beautiful car this is.

Nice list, but number 3 seems really out of place. If you do go for the Audi, please change the oil every 2500 miles, or sooner. Those VW/Audi 1.8 turbo's have a bad sludge problem which if left unchecked could cause the engine to seize from lack of lubrication.

I always changed my oil every 2000-2200 miles in my sports cars (except this one I drive now). After doing research on the car insurance...I've narrowed my list down to a few. Here's the insurance costs for my main list with full coverage with absolutely everything possible to add. And keep in mind since I met the rear end of a Suburban with my '95 Maxima I have 3pts on my driving record. (brakes went out)

2001 Audi A4 1.8L 4cyl Turbo Auto 4WD = $203/mo
2001 Audi S4 2.7L V6 Bi-Turbo Auto 4WD = $307/mo (too bad...this is one hell of a sweet ride)
2001/2002 Nissan Maxima SE Auto $227/mo
2002 VW Jetta GLS/GL Auto 1.8L 4cyl Turbo or 1.8 non-Turbo $175/mo
2002/2003 Ford Explorer Sport TRAC RWD Auto $189/mo
2000/2001 Ford F250 Super Duty V8 Diesel 4dr or 2dr Auto $208/mo
2001/2002 VW Golf GLS 4cyl Auto 4dr $168/mo
2001/2002 Volvo S40 1.9L 5cyl Turbo Auto 4dr $196/mo
2000/2001 Saab 9-5 SE V6 Turbo Auto 4dr $188/mo
2005 Saab 9-2X 2.5L 4cyl Auto 4dr Estate $183/mo
2002 Subaru Impreza WRX (Estate) 2.5L flat-4 Turbo Auto $216/mo
2004 Subaru Impreza TS 2.5L flat-4 AWD 4dr Auto $198/mo
2002 Subaru Impreza WRX $237/mo
2003 Infinity G35 Sedan Auto $245/mo
1999/2000 BMW 540i V8 Auto 4dr $298/mo (WTF is this shit!)
2001/2002 Lexus IS300 2.5 V6 Auto 4dr $327/mo (OMFG this is fucking BS)
2000/2001 Jaguar S-Type V6 Auto 4dr $204/mo

I'm leaning towards, Audi A4, Saab 9-5 SE, Jaguar S-Type, VW Jetta or 4dr Golf, Volvo S40, brand new Explorer Sport Trac (I can below invoice with my family discount), or an Impreza model right below the WRX. But I'm fairly sure I'm going to get an Audi A4, I just love those cars...I drove one recently and thought it was fantastic...and it being German means it's much much much much better vs any american POS sedan. I hate american CARS with a passion (except the new GTO as it's an aussie Holden Monaro).
