Strange Tabbed Browsing problem in FireFox

I'm having an odd problem right now...I haven't played with my settings yet, but after installing this one extension from the FireFox site (PaNIC button) it seems that even when I have a single page open there's a tab for it. I'm pretty sure that extension did it, but I uninstalled it and it's stayed that way even after I got rid of it. O_o

If it would help I can post a list of my extensions.

Tools>Options...

hit the Advanced tab

make sure that "Hide the tab bar when only one site is open" is checked.

hopefully that'll work

Ugh, that was it. I'm an idiot. I'm not sure how that got unchecked though...it wasn't ME who did it, ye can be sure of that. I still think that plug-in screwed with the setting because I never noticed that problem until I installed it. <img src=smilies/erm.gif>

Anyway, coolie, do you know of a setting to get rid of the Google search by the address bar? I have GoogleBar installed, so I don't need it. I tried looking for one in about:config but could not find one.

go to View>Toolbars>Customize...

put your mouse over the google box, click, and drag it into that big grey window that just popped down.
