Default best emulators

It's been a few years since I've looked into this, can anyone give me a list of the current best win7 compatible emulators for each system?

"best emulators" are entirely subjective.

My advice is to search in the forums as this has been discussed before, and try various emulators out to see which ones are to your liking.

In my entirely subjective opinion;

Nes: FCEultra
Snes: ZSnes
GBC/GBA: VisualBoy Advance
Genesis/MasterSystem/GameGear: Kega Fusion
PS1: ePSXe
N64: Project64 (1.6)
DS: no$gba + no$zoomer (google for a combined package, seems significantly more resource intensive than other emulators mentioned here)

All of these (save the DS emulator & Project64 for certain games) run at 100% on my laptop from ~2004.

Thumbs up Best Computer Emulators for Windows 7

You'll have a tough time beating these selections if you're looking for accuracy and good, solid emulation.

Computers:

MS-DOS = DOSBox with D-Fend Reloaded frontend:

Commodore Amiga = WinUAE

Apple IIgs = ActiveGS

Thumbs up Best Console Emulators for Windows 7

NES = Nestopia

http://forums.bannister.org/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=69655#Post69655
https://sites.google.com/site/geestarrawnestopia/
*caveat; use the default color palette from FCEUX in place of Nestopia's own color palette if you want accurate colors: http://www.fceux.com/web/home.html

SNES = bsnes
http://byuu.org/
*caveat here; the longer bsnes development continues, the more features byuu strips from the compiled releases. It's at the point now where anything after v082 isn't worth looking at unless you want to start revising your SNES ROM collection into cartridge folders. If that sounds stupid it's because it is. But what are ya gonna do? The emulator is otherwise awesome. If you want to use cores post v082 you can also try RetroArch with libretro cores:

Sega Genesis / Master System = Kega Fusion
