Cool How would I replace the existing music in a SNES rom to something different?

For an example, I downloaded a few Super Mario World hacks, and the sound effects and music are from Super Mario Bros. 3 I was like WOW!

So yeah, please help me out.

Try Snessor. It's been quite awhile since I've messed with it, but I believe it can do what you're wanting.

you have to have a very intimate knowledge with assembly and the SNES hardware (especially the SPC700) in order to pull something like that off.

That's the SPU (sound processing unit) of the SNES.

Snezzer wouldn't help you at all. It's a sample ripper. You have to learn 65C816 assembly to even begin trying to replace SNES music in a game.

Oops, apparently the Windows version of Snessor, which I linked to in my original reply, can only rip audio. You need the DOS version of SNESSOR in order to actually reinsert them. The DOS version does work in XP, at least.

Cool Snessor.

Damn... Even DOSBOx wouldn't open my editors anyways... I'll find someone else to do this for me, I guess. X.x All I wanted to do was change the crappy music in a few SNES roms for better stuff. Kinda like Tetris & DrMario for SNES. nvm then ty anyways

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Snessor would only let him insert new samples. I think Bowie's talking about putting in an entirely new song, which is a whole new ball of wax. It can be done, but it's hard. You'd need to find information for the specific game you are trying to hack more than likely.

What if I just want to disable music? Can I replace the samples with just silent samples?
