Komodo usb converter issue

I just bought this device and I can't get my computer to recognize it at all. I plugged it in and it began to install its plug and play drivers, but no dialog boxes or anything of the sort ever came up. It finished and the device doesn't appear anywhere, there is no application for it, it doesn't appear in the device manager. I checked the CD that came with the device and there is no setup application or anything remotely helpful. The documentation includes html pages with a lot of "click here" statements, but not a single link and simple instructions that do not in any way resolve the problem.

I did a google search for drivers and nothing relevant came up. What do I need to do?

Ok, I found the set-up program and got the thing recognized, but now I'm getting a problem that I saw described while I was searching before. It's just randomly shooting out inputs without me pressing anything.
