Well, not necessarily new. I've hacked NES games before, but I think I'm ready to tackle a SNES game. Anything I should watch out for when hacking?
I'm referring to FF6, by the way.
Almost forgot to ask.. there was a FF6 sound utility. Where is it??
EDIT: Sorry, but can somebody point me to a patch that gets rid of that splash screen in FF3us?

If you're not making any original hard hack I'd like to play hacked FF3/FF6 myself.

Watch out for HiROM addresses when hex-editing. Those can be hard as crap to figure out. I remember Lenophis sending me a tutorial about them, but I lost the file I saved them in.
About the patch? I had something like that... but like the rest of my stuff, it disappeared from my HDD and I never could find it.

Patch (http://www.tales-cless.org/?page=romhack), scroll down near to the bottom.
To the original question, there is a generic sound utility to mess with sound effects buried at this site somewhere. JCE3000GT made a preliminary SPC tweaker, but he has no site at the moment (he's also MIA) so I have nothing to link to.
--Edit--
Take that back (http://www.romhacking.net/utils/487/).

You could try Evil Peer's utility, though be warned it's probably about as incomplete as JCE's is/was.
I would recommend some insightful documents (http://slickproductions.org/docs.php?id=FF6) to hopefully give some hacking assistance.
Hope it helps.

Ehhh, about as well as can be I guess. Been working on Pandora's Box for many a moon, and that's about it.
