OK, now I'm scared a bit. My right hand is basically useless now. Last Thursday night, I fell asleep at my desk with my head propped up on the back of my hand. My wrist was completely bent with all the weight of my melon pressing it down. So I woke up Friday morning with my hand asleep (or so it felt). Well as time passed, it became apparent that it wasn't waking up. My wrist completely limp and my hand unable to hold anything, the strangest thing is that there's no pain or swelling. Now 4 days later it hasn't gotten much better, and this injury made my weekend activities very difficult...

Doesn't that happen before a stroke? Or was it a heart attack? I forget. Seriously, though, if it's because you're not getting blood flow to the hand, you could lose it. See a doctor right away.

I went to see my doctor this morning, and got some good and some bad news. The good news is that it's just swollen tissue surrounding a nerve; not a serious medical condition. The bad news is that it'll take a good two weeks to fully recover. Which totally sucks, because I'm right-handed.

Also, I have to do physical therapy.

wow, from sleeping bad. that sucks. glad it'll get better, though.

i kind of have the same situation right now... only different. about 2 months ago i took a bad spill at the beach while trying to skimboard. landed right on my tailbone. it's hurt like fuck ever since. i went to the doctor like a month ago, but they said it wasnt broken. it still hurt, so i went for more xrays last week. tomorrow i find out what the deal is. i think i may have snapped my tailbone or something because when i shift my weight i can feel something move weird in there... like shifting. if that's the case, i might need surgery..... FOR A STUPID TAILBONE INJURY! Woe is us... for our stupid injuries.

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear about that. I know how painful tailbone injuries can be. I hope everything's alright, after all the tailbone is the ass-end of your spine!

Thanks bro.

Hey, the other good news is I now weigh in at 173 lbs.

Six months ago before I quit smoking and began my workout/ health kick, I weighed 150. Finally got some guns.

For some reason I was just reminded of the "Fitness Made Simple" commercials with fitness celebrity John Basedow.

Is it just me or does he look like a bad Photoshop image come to life?

I've managed to pull muscles in my neck from sleeping wrong, somehow. If only I knew how, so I could prevent such a thing from ever happening again... Twice is too often. /wwwthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif

I also tend to get cramps in my legs (left one, commonly) while stretching in bed. Now that is paaaaaaaaaaainful, especially when you can still feel it for days after. I had to stretch my leg for over 10 minutes before I could adequately walk last time, and I couldn't not move it for too long without having to stretch it again before walking. Bah. Stupid bodies. /wwwthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

Sounds just as painful, but mine only happen if I'm stretching my legs. Basically, I wind up holding whatever leg is cramping for several minutes, trying to do anything I can to relieve the excruciating pain; once it subsides, I can't do much of anything with that muscle for several days without a lot of pain. I hope your problem at least subsides after a very short while. :\

I get 'em too, up the inside of my right leg. Fucking painful. The bad ones sometimes last over 10 minutes, and I can still feel some soreness for days afterward.

yeh man, that is kinda messed up. my little sister had (*or is actually still dealing with*) that kind of problem with her face. only with her the nerve cells are growing slower than they should be. so half of her face is somewhat paralyzed (*i think its called bells palsy*). and slowly... very slowly she's regaining the movement of the left side of her face. i hope ya get better soon

(*slaps forehead*) oh yeah, brad. i remember now. we were talking about that in the laundromat, right? hehe.

Me, a friend, and my brother have all previously decided it's Photoshopped. You're not alone.

Also, I've had my hand do that before when I woke up, but only for like half an hour before I started getting feeling back. I figured I had cut off the bloodflow or something. I couldn't really move it and it felt really cold. Goodtimes.

Wow, I've had that happen to me for as long as I can remember. Maybe I should talk to my doctor about that.

Wingless: I used to have probelms with my tailbone. I can't really remeber what happened but I think I fell either biking or roller blading. It used to hurt when I stood up from the sitting postion or even trying to sit down. You should of seen the looks I would get a school for yelling out while trying to do those things. In the end I went to a chiropracter and everything has been fine since then. Still don't know what was wrong, but I hope everything works out ok for you.
