For the past 2 days I have been in utter agony. But let me explain how this came to be.

Yesterday I am sitting at a restaurant with the family and Jenn having dinner. In the middle of biting into a cheese stick, I start having a sharp pain in my left side. Oh well, I think to myself, probaly just a heart attack. But I wasn't having any of the other symptoms. Just agonizing pain every time I move wrong. Dinner ends, I get home (after screaming bloody hell every time the car stops or turns a corner on the way home) and I am still in pain. I take a hot bath, doesn't help. Try a hot shower with the massager thing on, doesn't help. I have Jenn put some icy hot on my back, and then a heating pad thing. Doesn't help. So finally I go to bed, and after rolling around in pain for a good part of the night I get to sleep. Today it hasn't been as bad, but still hurting. Anyone have any clue whats wrong with me? There doesn't seem to be anything wrong on the surface, no pain if I press on my back although the act of moving the arm to do so can cause it. I'm thinking maybe a twisted muscle or something.

Oh, and if you guess where the title of this post comes from you get a cookie.

Perhaps you strained a muscle on that side, maybe from moving it without your body expecting it or something. I'm actually surprised that you woke up with it feeling better...there was once when I was on a bike and ran into a parked car (yea, I even laugh at myself for that). My leg looked worse than my wrist, and at the time, hurt more too. Come next morning though, my wrist was fucking killing me. Turned out I sprained my wrist, and had to get it splinted for a week or 2. Perhaps it was something that happened the day before and some motion or something you did during the dinner aggrevated it or something...I dunno. You might wanna get it checked out or something.

Apendix, gallstone, kidney stone. See your doctor if the pain comes back and as for the gallstone one, that is quit common and painful and dangerous sometimes.

It is more towards my left shoulder blade, so that rules most if not all of those out. I should have made that clear originally. If it had been focused more towards my abdomen, I would have gone to a doctor after this long.

well, if it's been really painful for this amount of time, you should probably see a doctor regardless. I mean, it wouldn't hurt right? (no pun intended)

Cracked rib possibly, if it gets hit right it only takes 8 lbs of impact to break a rib and that would affect you front and back abdominal area, you could have done it playing football to bumping/falling into something if this is the case and when I broke my ribs they tore my lung so if you think this is possible then see a doctor. Could also be bruised abdominal muscles, I hurt mine from coughing while doing bongs a few years back, hurt like hell to, but coughing jags from other reasons can cause this also.

Heh, whenever my stomach hurts, my mom is always like "Is it on the right?" she blames everything on the appendix, or menegitis. weird.
