i saw a commercial for this eharmony.com on tv...it said there's this huge personality test. i signed up just for the test to find out what some phd thinks about me. pretty damn accurate. it asks VERY personal questions and then matches you up with people exactly like you.

i didn't think anything of it because i have this anti-online-dating thing, plus it didn't find any matches.

logged in today out of boredom and it had a match...some chick in new cumberland. from her description and stuff (it goes really in depth) she's a boring nerd like me who likes comfy clothes.... and all this time i thought people like that (whom i like) don't exist.

of course, i'm probably not going to pursue it. i have something against online dating services, i lack the self esteem and totally lack the guts to say something to her. so i remain alone.

That's the way I always am, although I was on Yahoo Personals back before it became lame and pay, and even before it was only 18 and up (I was 17). Most people posted the personal from their own yahoo name (like me) and meeting people was a little easier because it just sorta happened. Of course, the only person I met from it was a 23 year old call girl/pimp (she owned an escort service) with a 5 year old daughter. If there was ever an awkward day of my life, it was the lunch I had with her. The main thing I can remember from it is when I was childishly asking about her service, about the security guards actually, and pretty much they get like $200 an hour for standing outside the room where it takes place (although sometimes they get to be inside and watch it). Heck, could still be a career to consider!

think about it. if she's registered there she's probably hoping someone would hurry up and respond to her. why the hell do you think she's there? go for it!

wow....that was a long test

and it didn't get me quite right. it said i wasn't happy unless i'm around lots of people, but the truth is, i'm quite content with alone time. i don't know if i'd trust the match they gave me based on that error.

as if i'd bother with on-line dating in the first place

eww

Dude, that's fucking crazy. Not that she owned an escort service and had a kid, but the fact you actually met person-to-person with someone from a personals site. I don't think I'd ever have the balls to do any such thing in my life.

I wasted all that time filling out the profile and not even a single match. I suck.

that's the thing...i didn't get a match at first either. it's VERY specific in its algorithms...it's not like the other cheap sites that hook you up with anyone similar just to show matches. it actually finds compatible people.

SwampGas, you know this cost $250 if you actually want to meet your matches? Damn that's expensive!!!

I bet there's a real free one out there, I'm gonna check it out. Couldn't take any longer than that personal profile of theres took.

I'm one of the lucky "one in five" that don't fit into their Frankenstinien-algorithmic-dating-structure. YESSH!

I haven't got any cash, and $250 used to be my entire check, so I guess it didn't work out.

I hated the whole Living Skills part, because most of what they list I suck at. Also, in Relationship Style, "Knowing that my spouse is usually to blame when things go wrong"??? I laughed at that one. So I guess I'll see what happens. So far 0 matches though...certainly doesn't surprise me.

I had met people from the net before...granted they had a lot more in common with me, like age and childless and not owning an escort service, but still, it didn;t SEEM that different. I mean I knew going into it that I couldn't really have feelings for this chick...I was 17 and she had a freakin kid. So it was more like just a get-together kinda thing, like most of my other meetings. It's funny because I'm not a bold adventurous person at all with most things, but I am with some.
