yesterday around 6 we went to fiasaga to have dinner with some friends. on the way back dave suggested we go to atlantic city. having never been there and that my friend just went there, i agreed.
we officially departed just before 10pm. dave covered the gas/tolls. we made a stop just after the harrisburg east interchange on the turn pike to grab some breath freshening devices...MONEY COUNT: $1.99 breath strips. between 1a and 1:30a we arrived and we hit the mcdonald's overlooking caesar's the the trump plaza. MONEY COUNT: a little over $5 for a number 2.
after that we parked in bally's parking garage and walked to club tru. we were exxpecting an AWESOME club and stuff cause it's the big city and it was trance night. MONEY COUNT: $10 cover, $4.50 for vodka/cran (only had one at that price). music was alright for the first 15 mins...mostly house remixes of pop songs...not the trance they advertised. but everything went downhill from there.
the bass was alright...sloppy, boomy and muddy, but it was there and plenty of it. the highs were terrible. they were so loud the sibilance created by the high hats and such were ear piercing. definitely sounded like cds and not vinyl. the music wasn't mixed at all. train wrecks, cold starts, etc. i was about ready to have a seizure from the strobe lights as well. rest of the lights didn't even match the music. i was DYING to spin and show these people how a real club works....and since dave is the light jockey at the club, he could have taken over lights and made them look good. i think the lights were trackspots and prospots....the 10 strobes looked like data flash ripoffs.
then these 2 sloppy road whores got on stage wearing practically nothing. the mic was muffled and muddy so i couldn't even tell what was going on. it may have been a contest. they were the 2 ugliest people in the building. my fat ass on stage would have gotten more cheering. then they started playing rap music. that was the final straw. bye.
we walked to the board walk and went down like 4 or 5 blocks. first time i've been to the ocean in years. nice salty, fishy air.
then we decided to go gambling. we started in caesar's in the western part. MONEY COUNT: $5. Lost.
MONEY COUNT: $5. Lost.
MONEY COUNT: $10. WON!!!!!!!!!. i was playing lucky 7s on the slots and won like 200 credits. all i wanted was to break even, so i bet down to 50 credits. walked away with a voucher for $82. made all my money back thus far.
then i spent various other amounts around the place. on my last play, i spent $20 and on my last spin made the $20 back plus $2.
MONEY TOTALS:
left with $100 in my pocket pre-expenses.
walked in my front door with $130 in my pocket at 7am.
so it was fun...except for that waste of a club called tru. overnight trips to atlantic city rock.
