Why are there no Roms on this site?

There are the hacked ones, but why are there no regular roms on the site for NES, SNES, Atari, etc? Are roms illegal? Would the site get shut down if they had them? Other sites like have roms and they have been online for several years.

Yeah, and nowadays they usually comply with ESA demands that they take certain ROMs off the site, lest they be shut down. And yes, they are considered illegal. And yes, more than likely we would be shut down if we carried 'em.

And just to clarify, the only ROMs ZD has are public domain ROMs. The 'hacked ROMs' are not the actual ROMs but patches that apply the hack to the ROM.
